Injector cleaner in a bottle, are they usefull?

Had some shopping to do at local "canadian tire" (auto part store) and I saw that "Pensoil" injector cleaner bottle for a few dollars.

Should I bought it? is good or bad for the engine?

It's too weak / diluted to do any harm.

You want REAL injector cleaner? BG44K. It's the active ingredient that Chevron calls "Techron", just concentrated.

Anything you buy in an autoparts store is gonna be too weak to do any real good. And NOTHING will rehab abused injectors - regular cleaning / treatment is the key.

When you say "Regular cleaning" do you mean only at dealership?

Can you give a few info about "treatment" of the injectors?

Thanks,

Retard is right on. The store bought stuff is watered down and really not doing much beyond what the regular additives in everyday gasoline do. But if you want the real deal that will thoroughly clean the whole fuel system, ports, valves, and combustion chamber, this http://www.motorvac.com/products/CarbonCleanMCS245.html
is the deal. You really only need to do it every 25K miles or so, but you will feel a difference especially if you have a car that has been run on cheap gas (ARCO) and never really run hard. I did it for my girlfriend's daughter's Civic because it was pinging like hell even with new plugs, proper timing etc. After the Motorvac, runs great and no ping at all. You just have to find a shop that has the equipment. Call around and some are sure to have it.

You called him a retard............nice???

Redlines cleaner calls for the whole bottle with 20
gal. of fuel. I use it every 2 or 3,000 miles at 1/2
tank. I'm not going to wait until my G's running
like $hit to do something about it. Cost is $7 and
change every 3,000 miles not a big deal.
And, it works!!!!

I agree. BG is great stuff, and I believe some dealerships use this product as well!

+1 for the BG44K. I used to use the Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner from Costco. I thought that was "maintaining" the cleanliness of my injectors until my friend told me to try a can of BG44K. The fuel economy on my 84K mile Chrysler returned to its original EPA rating, and I could definitely feel a difference in the power.

Definitely use it every 20-30K miles. You can get it on eBay for $13-16/can.

The Effects of BG44k are roughly the equivalent of 4 bottles of Techron in a single tank of gasoline on my Q45.

I use it 1 tank prior to each 90 day oil change and have for the past 9 years.

To save money US refineries are using the minimal level of EPA required detergents.............while using lower grade gummier base stocks in the process.

Experience [on Lexus, BMW, MB, and Nissan] has shown that every engine will feel improved after a BG44k treatment. Even Toyota rebrands the stuff under their own label in the SE US.

BG44k combined with the BG induction service is the best stuff out on the market, we used it at my old dealer and use it on my personal vehicles. i love that stuff, BG is the best out on the market for additives granted it is kinda expensive but worth every penny

Buying and using 4 bottles of Techron [every 90 days] is more expensive per application.

I'd just get them removed and thoroughly cleaned...the filter screens in the injectors may have stuff trapped in them. I dont think any injector cleaner can remove those past the screens.
