Why are all the advertisements for these BS? The spacer claims 12-14hp, the pop charger claims 6.5hp, and many z-tube websites claim 7hp. Thats obviously not true because that would be over 26hp.

Can you put the Motordyne MREV Plenum Kit 350Z, G35 W/300hp Rev Up Motor on a 280hp Auto or does it have to be the Motordyne 5/16" Plenum Spacer and Iso-Thermal Gasket Kit?? Would I see better gains with the MERV plenum??

You probably won't see MORE benefit. You just need to get the non-MREV Iso Thermal gasket and the 5/16" spacer.

i've readt that putting mrev on a non-rev up engine will actually make it loose power across the entire band

and likewise, i've read that using just the spacer on a revup will not result in any power gain.

No, its the "REVUP" lower plenum that does this. Not the MREV.
The two are almost opposites of eachother.

Just for clarification, the MREV combines an OEM non revup lower collector with an iso thermal spacer(additionally, the Plus option machines two runners on the lower collector). Therefore, the MREV is inappropriate for non-revups because the non-revups already have the OEM collector. Non-revups however do benefit from the iso thermal plenum spacer.

So, if someone attempted to put an MREV on a non-revup, he would see the same results as if he just used a spacer.

And that would be on a good day....just out of curiosity; when you guys are discussing hp increases on this forum; do you always use crank horsepower rather than wheel horsepower??

According to SZM's results; the 5/16 spacer should give you 6.5 - 9.2 hp at the CRANK.....I believe that you would only see those type of gains using a z-tube would be on a car that has some form of forced induction. On a car w/ bolt ons you would not see 1-3 hp gain from a z-tube.

Happy modding
