Re: Hotwires Add HP!!!

That is complete BS! Wires do not make power. Unless, Unless you are running 30 or more pounds of boost. Wires can help keep your spark from blowing out. creating horsepower. But still, spark plug wires don't make power. POINT BLANK! There are a lot of claims out there. Think of it this way. If you installed every bolt -on part to your car available and they all said 15hp per part you'd have a gazzillion hp.

I can agree with this. I used to own a 94 honda prelude vtec, and bought those wires. Each wire has its own ground cable and they didn't make a lick of difference.

Re: Hotwires Add HP!!!

Well i wonder if anyone has installed this Nology Hotwires on G35... we should get a sample and see if it really adds hp... its like grounding kit for our engine...seems simple but it does improve our engine...

I Agree NOLOGY = CRAP Why don't you try MSD Digital Ignition Instead

You guys know we have direct ignition with no spark plug wires and six coils(one for each cylinder). It looks to me those are made for an old car.

I actually don't even own a G. lol Sorry. But if there are no wires then you have coil-on ignition. Similar, I guess. but just different wording.

Re: Hotwires Add HP!!!

Yeppers, to clarify. Our cars do not have spark plug wires. As above, there is a coil over each spark plug. This is, without a doubt the best way for a manufacturer to implement a system, direct coil over vs using wires. The Nology product is a novel concept, but is not applicable in our application...

Re: Hotwires Add HP!!!

Don't the MSD setups add more voltage for a hotter spark, thus giving slightly better power and response? Can we use these?

Re: Hotwires Add HP!!!

These wires do not increase horsepower but they do make for a cleaner burning engine. The spark duration is shorter because the coil harnesses the voltage for one *short* burst of ignition. If you have knocking problems, they might help a bit. But if you have knocking problems... a tune-up would be a cheaper and more effective alternative.
I could never get myself to use these because I heard many bad things about them, i.e. holes thru cylinder heads.

btw... splitfire did work on my 92 pulsar. no more black soot on my tailpipes. Don't know how long that lasted since I don't have that car anymore.

Re: Hotwires Add HP!!!

hotwires have been around for a long time. pretty much a gimmick.

wires don't neccessarilly add more HP, but help the plugs fire better and help the car run smoother. You might feel hp gains in that sense.

if you want some good cables, check out magnecor. the best IMO www.magnecor.com

If you want to learn more about ingnition cables and why hotwirez aren't good. check out http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/truth.htm
