If its your first time doing a driving event at a track they'll assign you in green with all the other new peoples. If your concerned with time then consider looking at the APEX schedule. They do one day events. I've seen people only come for one day to The Drivers Edge events but I never remember seeing a one day sign up option so I don't know if they are throwing their money away.

The Drivers Edge is definatly the most well run group and friendly of all I've participated with.

If you want to learn car control I'd suggest the AutoX events. They are at slower speeds where you make quicker adjustements to steering/gas and your car will end up being a little more twitchy because of the constant weight transfer. AutoX is also are cheeper and easier on equipment. I ran one day with the S2000 club last year and they are fairly layed back and less competitive compared to my typical SCCA expirence.

^ yeah, I hang out with the S2000 club and go to a lot of their events. Unfortunately I've missed the past few autocrosses, but they do a great job running those events.

Are you bringing the G or the Z to Hallett? Also, are you going both days? I was just there this past weekend and it WAS A BLAST!!!! I'll try to see if we can get some of the Oklahoma Z/G guys together again for this event. Make sure you upgrade your pads and brake fluid prior to going there. I had one episode of brake fade the entire time w/ ATE Super Blue and Project Mu pads....and I was driving the sh*t out of it! I took it easy on the rest of the lap and everything was good for another 5 laps or so.

I will be at all these events with the Z. The G is my wife's car, and no where near ready for a track.

Both days for me. We will be driving in early Saturday morning and leaving after the last session on Sunday afternoon.

Yep, Hallett is VERY tough on your brakes. You need to ensure your brakes are prepared for that track. I actually had rear pad problems out there in July. My Pads and Rotors went metal to metal, not the best situation! Hopefully Ive resolved those issues. The test comes this weekend at MSR.

We only had two 350z cars show up to our event! All those owners who put down the extra $$$$ for the track model wouldn't show up. O well, their loss. We did have about 10 or so Z32 and quite a few Z31 show up.

Anywhoooo, I'll keep in touch with you as October nears,

Yadda, Yadda, Yadda, Yeah I know. I'll try harder next time to include the APEX events. They run an OK show, especially if you don't want to dedicate an entire weekend.

^ yeah, I know. it's like they have something against APEX around here.

BeerViper, I look forward to meeting you. I'll be out there as well...most likely in the only G sedan.

Well I haven't signed up yet but my car is ready this time! Just need an oil change before the event and then a few gallons of 105 octane to be safe

It's been since May '07 since I've tracked with Apex so hopefully they will still let me in as an intermediate! I look forward to seeing you there!

Sorry no APEX events that I see scheduled

Could be last chance to get back on ECR as well. I'm not even sure if PCA is still running there or has changed the date. I've a note on my calender that it was tentative when I jotted it down. To lazy to look ;P

I won't be attending anything in October, business matters. However that TWS with the drives edge in November is tempting (Already 50% Full ).

Hey twin001.
Things arent looking good for Oct 25-26 in Hallett. I completely overlooked my calendar, and I have a wedding to attend on the 25th. However, I am contemplating doing a one day on that Sunday. It'll be a LONG day, but I will keep you posted.
