I need to just tell him to drive it like a manual..meaning listen to the rev of the motor just like in a manual on shifting. thats the way my car handles/drives....

1st gear accelerate let off the gas alittle and shift it...then into second gear left off the gas and shift into 3rd the romp on it for 3rd through 7k

what will happen with your trans go now rob is they will put into into Manumatic and since your shift points are alot quicker now the car will be very jerky if they just try to keep on gas 1st - 2nd - and then into 3rd.

Hey, put me down for the first slot on Saturday... I can't make any of the other times sadly, so I'll just do it first!

06 Titan with "air box mod" and a shortened exhaust with a dump are the only performance mods I have.

Chris (aka BlueBOB) - 2006 Nissan Titan (silver): Almost no mods

EDIT: And posted on the titan talk thread hehe

I know your supposed to but the process to get to 3rd gear if you dont rev the motor right I personally dont think the pull is there for your best power...I think Chris (bluebob) knows what I mean because whenver they dynoed my car at the corvette world dyno day we had (Chris) even said "jesus you have a long 3rd gear".....not kidding it just kept going and going and going and took forever to get to 7k on the dyno. my numbers that came back were horrible.

Actually, the G35 coupe's with auto should be dyno'd in 4th. You're supposed to dyno in the gear that's closest to 1:1 which is 4th gear. 3rd gear is 1.47:1. The manuals are supposed to be dyno'd in 5th for the same reason even though mine was always dyno'd in 4th.

thats what doesnt make sense.....my MOST PULL that I feel on my car is 3rd gear....4th gear feels as if it pulls less then 3rd..its always been that way

Well of course it does. That's the point of gear ratios. That's why 1st gear spins much harder than 2nd. You can always think of a bicycle when thinking of gear ratios

yeah I think they dyno can be set to which gear you are in... so if they did yours in 4th, the same as they were doing manual it would read a lot lower.

I think our 3rd is closer to manual 4th

Do both. You have 3 pulls.

I found on my Z/G (both 6MT) that the difference was about 5-10 HP/TQ when in 5th versus 4th (it was higher in 5th).

I'll probably do 4th on mine.... My 1:1 gear is 5th, but I will hit the speed limiter on my stock map in 5th gear before I make it to 7500 RPM's. Some shops don't want to run cars that fast on the dyno too....
