I believe it was stated by Infiniti that the Ex would be marketed toward the feminine gender.

So, yes.

+1. However, I still think it looks good. Would I buy one? Probably not.

I would seriously consider one if I didn't already have the FX. Still don't know what I'll do when the lease is up though. By November 2008 the new FX may be out and the EX will already be out. I'll have to take a look at both I guess.

THAT'S what I'd like to have seen.
More of a mini FX. I couild go for something like that as a DD.

I agree that it's a nice looking car
& the marketing dept is probably doing the right thing with the target market.

I just don't see that there'll be much of a following for it here...

Infiniti designed it to compete with the CR-V and such, as the FX is a tad bit too expensive for that segment. To me, it seems like a smaller, more luxurious version of a Murano.

No... it competes with the Acura RDX, Land Rover LR2, and BMW X3, all of which are in the EX's target price range.

And it's a smaller, more luxurious version of this...

2008 Nissan Rogue

But the EX is RWD/AWD, right? I mean it is a RWD platform or is it Altima-based like the Murano?

I'm talking about marketing--i.e., where it sits in the product line and what it competes with. That has little to do with platform/driveline details.
