'06 - Rust

Just a heads-up, and not sure if its germane to prior years as well.

I have two small strips (approx 3" each & very thin) directly below the rear glass on the right and left side.

Sorry...my digital is caput, but Santa should hook me up. My first pics on here wouldn't be of rust spots anyway.

Whats my easiest fix?

Yes gentlemen, I know I can take it up with the dealer. Not too many dealers here in cow country though, and I lament the idea of killing a weekend day for a 3" strip of rust.

I assume it is a design defect, as I have no other paint issues. It would seem that water collects over the two spots. It is not too visible, so I don't mind a DIY repair.

+1 Get those spots flattened out and then sprayed (by the dealer).

There is no quick fix aside from taking it to your local body shop and paying out of pocket for the repair. As you know, you'll get a loaner if you take it in under warranty. Rust is just like cancer and must be cut out.

go to the dealer because if the problem spreads, they'll blame you somehow.
