if you look on the driver side door jam it will also tell you if your car is prewired, right next to the tire pressures and stuff. mine is prewired and i think yours is newer then mine.

That's why I posted the VIN.

I'm glad you are prewired. It will save so much time.

^^Yeah it is a super easy install if it is wired. If I can do it, anyone can.

Also, it was actually the 2003.5 when they started prewiring them

i was leaning towards sirius for 2 reasons...
#1 i can get the windshield antenna
#2 it seems to be growing faster than XM and getting the bigger deals

but Chuck offered me his XM so I'm still considering that....but i really want the least visible antenna possible.

You can put the antenna in the rear parcel shelf. It's cheaper than the windshield mount.

ok i have had sirius for a few years now, the antenna needs to be outside the glass, it really messes up the reception. DONT use any kind of fm modulator, with all the HD radio crap now, you cant find any station without static somewhere..

AND GET SIRIUS!!! XM sucks!! my dad has XM, XM did a better job advertising at first, the owners of Sirius didnt have the knowledge or the money to do so. BUT, the programming on Sirius has brought them to the level they are at now, plus finally some decent advertising.

Satellite radio is just a temporary solution though, i would guess that it wont even be around in about 5 years though, thats why the stocks arent going through the roof and the keep barely meeting what their quarterly predictions are.

As soon as we have a wireless high speed broadband connection that can go anywhere, well , bye bye satellite radio and hello, LOTS of free and cheap internet based radio stations..

i cant wait!!! and unless you bought stock with sirius when it dropped down to 2 dollars a share back in around 2003-2004 and sold it when it hit 9 last year, then dont bother

Jeremy, have u tried or heard anyone with the windshield antenna for Sirius? I know the regular antennas need to be mounted outside but I would think that since this one is designed to be mounted behind ur rearview mirror then it would get good reception.

I get good reception with the antenna under glass. It seems about the same as my sedan with the antenna on the trunk lid. The important thing is that the antenna gets a good view of the sky. I also had good reception when I has XM in my Accord with the antenna under the rear glass. It helps to have some metal underneath the antenna too. I got a 6 inch round ductwork damper from Lowes and painted it flat black. You could always get the UFO for the trunk like Chuck.

Another option is to get the micro antenna and place it on a metal disc in the corner of the dash up front.

Hmmm, seems the $200 price I got recently from the dealer just to replace the Sirius roof mount antenna on my '05 was as I suspected...a bit high!

Unless you got the fin version, you got screwed. Always check with online vendors before buying anything but maybe an oil filter from the dealer.
