Has anyone ever polished the stock exhaust can?

I know, I know....Just buy an exhaust. Thing is, I already had the HKS exhaust and have since sold it. It just got a little too loud for my tastes. I've gotten used to the stock exhaust note again, but I hate looking at that dull black can across the back of an otherwise sexy @ss on the G.

Just wondering, has anyone ever polished the stock can, or have pics of a G with this done? I may do it this weekend just for the hell of it. I was thinking even if I went FI, i might still keep the stock exhaust and get HFC. I like my car quiet. (exhaust that is) screaming engine and blow off valves are acceptable, ahah..

Does anyone know if you can even polish the metal of the stock exhaust?

I bet the stock can is steel. you can polish it but you're going to have to clear coat it and hope the clear coat doesn't turn yellow.

You probably could. I've seen some people on Honda-tech polish their stock mufflers

Thanks for the offer man, but I can just do it myself, hehe... I've polished entire motorcycle frames so I think I can handle an exhaust....

Just to give everyone an idea of what I'm talking about...here's a few pics from honda-tech. These are stock exhausts that used to be black.

Stock exhaust tip from an integra gsr (took a torch to the end of it) looks better than X02! haha

Do it....

You are using an air tool and not by hand right?

Just polish the visable parts. Well that's what I'd do but I'm lazy.

Okay, so I ran out of time this weekend, and I had to put the exhaust polishing on hold, but I'd say I'm about 70% done. Right now it's still not where I want it, but it'll have to do for now. If I had access to a die grinder/air compressor my life would be so much easier. blah, oh well... here are a few pics for now just to get an idea. consider these pics under construction, hehe..
