well I had the clunk too but I guess it was coming from somewhere else.

I raised the car this weekend and found one of my upper control arms bolts was super-loose...

It turned out that I had hit a huge pot hole a couple of weeks back (that had bent my rim ... ) so the clunk got worse and worse until every time the car was braking, the clunk would sound on forward motion.

Well... check your bolts before thinking it's something else, my 2 cents
