Exhaust

Before you guys say SEARCH! I've been searching all over and want some thoughts from you guys.

Sooooo.... Im in the market for an exhaust obviously. But im not looking at spending a ton of money,($400 range) i was originally looking at the god speed one but i havent seen much on it so i decided not to risk it. So as i start doing my research i look at the M2 and the XO2 not sure if theyre the same. I hear mixed things about both just want to make sure you know if i get one or the other am i going to have to go to an exhaust shop to fix a fitment issue? Also i have a friend that wants to sell me some SS headers for 50 bucks now you cant beat that. Although i did my research and see its a HUGE P.I.T.A to get headers on the car so i told him im not sure. He told me he'll install for 275 and i figure il just wrap em in black exhaust wrap to keep the heat issue under control. So let me know what you guys think and point me in the right direction right now im basically running headers only so its obnoxiously loud right now so anything will be better at this point. Also am i going to have Rasp issues with headers?

P.S. I look forward to meeting you guys in person but i work M-F 3pm-11pm so i miss all the Central Fl wensday night meets.

Buy my exhaust

Headers are a PITA but I guess for 50 bucks you cant go wrong. What are SS headers?

I really do not like either of those exhausts.

Wow that was a quick reply. ilovez33 are you rick? I thought about axel back option but i would also like more hp right now im just going to do all the bolt ons but in the long run i want to do FI if i still have the car that long. Also FTMFW what exhaust do you have? The only thing i dont like about the note right now with just header is A its REALLY LOUD B the Rasp. The tone isnt bad just damn loud there is no talking going on in the cabin unless your yelling.

im guessing you have a couple although you didnt mention it.

i had the xo2 on my g35 and its decent for what it is. i got it for $400 used which i couldnt turn down. its a loud deep exhaust. the biggest complaint are the tips arent that shiny which i didnt mind. i made the mistake of running it with test pipes so i had drone and rasp which wasnt bad except when i had my windows up.

headers for $325 total doesnt sound like all that bad of a deal. like you said, the biggest pain is installing them. you will get more rasp with them though. if you're looking to make your exhaust louder, high flow cats is a good option without having the extra rasp of headers or test pipes.

Thanks for the feed back and FTMFW that exhaust sounds nice on idle and low rev hows it sound when you open her up? Also W0ady i have a 05 Coupe so you get a significant amount of rasp when you go headers huh? Hmm i may offer the deal to someone else on here then.

the xo2 is a copy of the hks but sounds nothing like it. its a deep, throaty exhaust when you get on it. down low its not that bad but like i said, there's some drone around 2500rpm so dont get it if you are picky about a quiet car.

i would do it in steps, get the exhaust first then decide if you want to add headers or cats to change it.

I went with XO2 on my coupe. All in all, i love the exhaust. its deep and sounds very "ballsy". Exactly what i wanted. I wouldn't reccomend running headers or test pipes with it though, you will get too much rasp.

I did have some fitament issues but nothing i couldnt fix by man handling the pieces around a bit :P

Look for videos and see what you like, sound wise..

Here are two videos of my exhaust..

Nightm4re i might just have to pick one of those up. Now on the fitment issues what problem did you have exactly? Can it be fixed with a BFH? Also i hear you can replace the tips that come with it with some better quality tips so theyl have the burnt tips. BTW your vid on FB is Private couldnt watch it.
