valve cover seals.... need some advice

So installing spark plugs is usually a very uneventful thing for me. I called infiniti orlando around 3:30 to ask what they want me to do since I still have a warranty and no desire to fix this myself.

after waiting for an hour they never called back so I called again, this time being informed they closed up shop and I would have to wait till 730 monday.

is this a huge issue that would require me not to drive the car till it is fixed? I just changed the oil to verify that I had the exactly correct amount in, but this is going to drive me nuts till it is fixed.

Who would I be advised to speak to? I know there is a TSB for this condition, but I can't for the life of me remember the code(will google it after dinner).

Anyone have an idea of how fast their turn around is on this issue?

this really Fed up my day. Fresh copper plugs, Fresh Castro synthetic w/ bosche filter(which I owned my fiance by guessing which it was... simply by seeing it only), and my favorite part of today.........

black chrome turned out AWESOME.

hmmmmm if only you can take off the tint on the headlights.....it just doesnt work for our cars :-\ not shure about our valve cover seals but for oil consumption they have to order the block and wait for it to come in then your cars down for a couple days while they fix.....Have you had them run an oil consumption test yet?

You need a new valve cover, this is common sadly. A new cover will run you about 200 each, but f your under warranty I'm
sure they should replace it with no charge.

Was that the 6th cylinder where you had the oil?

One company released the main seals which leak them selfs they are bigger and better. I don't remember who it was but if i will find the link i will post it.

If your still underwarrenty, get the car fixed at the dealer. Go over there and have proof of oil inside.

Personally I would of never taken out the spark plugs and had it towed to infiniti so they can see there is oil in there.

I took plenty of photos as displayed here. when I put the coil back in, I'm sure there is still plenty of oil in the coil valley as the spark plug socket got drenched when I put it in the valley. the photos are hard enough for them to argue....

it was the rear most cyclinder on the passenger side.(no idea which # it is)

HLs are just a film, not tint.... seem to work great so far, very happy with them.

^Yes. This.

Take it to the dealer, they should replace your valve covers under warranty.

I had (have?) this problem, and I'm out of warranty.
I dried out the plug well, and it was still dry a month later.
I need to go check it again though.

Most people on the forum ask for me if they can't get anything accomplished in service.

You don't need the code for the TSB, the dealership knows it, just call tomorrow morning and they should be able to fit you in but you will need an appointment for that.
