In an attempt to start an official Infiniti G35 Car Club for the State of Florida, I’m thinking it’s about time that someone takes the “deer by the bumper” and gets something started. Several of the CFL local guys have decided to start a car club. We’d like to extend the membership out to all G35 owners in Florida. People from Miami to Jacksonville (and further North) should be invited.

I’m thinking that either Orlando or CLEARWATER would be most central for all of the people to meet up. Lokey Infiniti is in Clearwater and they are a MOD-FRIENDLY Infiniti dealership. I’m sure John would love to host this meet on a Saturday (parking might be an issue, but since I’ve put John on the spot, I’m sure he’ll be able to help us out). I’ve gone through 10 pages of posts in the SE Forum and tried to sift through all of the names of people who’ve made an impact on G35driver. I’ve compiled a list and came up with close to 100 names and would like to see if there can be a general consensus that we need to have a MAJOR MEET. I want people to cancel their previous plans, and do whatever it takes to make this a HUGE success. Everyone who shows up will become an official member of GONE, G Owners No Exceptions. There are endless possibilities from a large picnic, t-shirts, stickers, raffles, etc… We just need a few ideas as to how we can pull off this huge task so I’m asking for suggestions. Since I’m trying to put this together I’m just going to pick a date (probably some time in February or March) and try arranging everything with John and maybe 1 or 2 other sponsors. If you can’t make the date, then CHANGE YOUR PLANS, because I really want this to be a HUGE turnout.

I think that pretty much means that there is a HUGE potential for a GREAT turn out. As of now I’m not asking for a definite commitment, because the details haven’t been worked out yet, but I definitely want feedback to see if the Miami and Jacksonville guys would SERIOUSLY be interested in an ALL FLORIDA meet.

by the way gone sounds "gay" no offense we drive 35,000 dollar cars and u wanna give us a civic club name... i am not saying that it is not a begining i think the name needs more work...click my thread on sfl meet, my ideas are there.

 

Sounds good, I can do a Lokey meet, im from St Pete i go up there and visit quite often. Orlando is a bit more centralized but mostly do something around the majority of people that are going to come and where they are at. Wow 81+ FL members

my input is, dont wait for input...set it up for March 5th!!! and post...thats 11weeks notice. If anyone has plans that far in advance they probably can't cancel them anyways...or their lying and dont want to come

plus that gives time to make Tshirts or stickers or whatever we decide to do and pass them out at the meet

Thanks for the positive comments. I didn't come up with the name but I'm sure the person who did is more than flattered by your homosexual references. Also, thanks for volunteering to help with the event, oh wait you didn't volunteer anything other than criticism. I'm going to need more help than this if we're ever going to pull this event off. Maybe you could re-post your ideas here instead of sending some 80 people to another thread w/o a link.

Neff, lets do something in the next few months, maybe around spring break time. I know everyone's breaks are a little different but perhaps one weekend in March, like Fri-Sun or hell just one day, we could schedule a G-Z mega meet in central Orlando. I know some people might be discouraged to coming becuase of the distance but there's not a whole lot we can do to make everyone happy. I personally have drivin to Orlando twice in the G and it was worth the trip all in itself ; ] Also I think ima start a new thread on this but im leaving for St. Pete/Tampa Sunday after our SF meet. Maybe one of the Tampa guys could organize something at Lokey before Christmas and you all could come over to Clearwater for the day. We can meet around noon or so have lunch, chill, the beaches are awesome over there. Maybe on the 18th or so? I've heard the guys at Lokey are "mod friendly" and there pretty cool with helping us with stuff giving discounts and such.. If there's more of you wanting to come over and less of the St. Pete/Tampa people maybe we can meet in Orlando instead.

i deeply appalogize i was at my freinds house and was logged on he said that... i am all for it !! this is the greatest thing i heard since the news that g35 were coming out "lol" again i appologize on behalf of my freind i have respect for everbody's ideas and i am all for this one.. i do agree with my freind on the name it can use work but nothing is final. tell ne what i can do to make this a success. !!!!!

Although I am in Orlando, my vote is for the Lokey meet in Clearwater. Based on past threads, it appears they have been very supportive of our G community. Anything we can do to build the relationship with them would be beneficial to all of us.

Meeting there will also give everyone the option to get mods/service at the same time as the meet. Another good reason to go!

The March 5th date is a good one.

 

I want the Miami guys to make it so their input is definitely needed here. I haven't met most of them, but have met quite a few Tampa and Jax people.

The only reason I mentioned Clearwater is because Lokey Infiniti (the coolest dealership in FL ) has free hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks and deserts EVERY Saturday. I was planning on talking to John to see if we could set up a small raffle, have stickers for G35driver (Russ you still have the hook up?) and maybe some T-Shirts and other small stuff. I'd want to keep it somewhat simple. Maybe a few trophies (categories would not be disclosed until the day of the event). I'm not sure how much this would cost us all, but I'd be open to the idea of people all chipping in a few bucks to cover a T-Shirt, sticker, lunch, etc...

Nothing is definite, and Lokey Infiniti is just the first place that pops into mind.
