yeh but i think that is mainly up to todd and john to decide on that one. it is goin to be at a infiniti dealership so im not sure if they would want z there too much cause it might take some business anyway since they cant work on z too much.

 

I see your point. No offense to Todd I know he's putting a lot of work into this but if the events at Lokey then John has to decide. This brings up a good point since Lokey's dealerships include Nissan, Infiniti, VW, Kia, Mercedes, Mitsubishi and Saturn should we invite the Z's to include the Nissan family. If I'm thinking too big let me know. I just thought since it was called the All Florida Meet we should include the Z's. It would be interesting to hear what everyone else thinks.

 

I dont mind a Z being there, infact i know a 16 girl whos got a Z with over $20k worth of mods I bet you wouldn't mind seeing ; ] she lives in the area too

 

Ooh... that's a tough one. While I do like for the Z's to be a part in what we are doing there are many good reasons why they should not be involved in this meet. (Hear me out now, please)

1. The 350Z group already has a VERY WELL organized Florida chapter established, we do not. The link is here Florida 350Z Club. They are sponsored by various companies and are WAY ahead of where we presently are as far as an organization. They have a membership form, membership fees, their own website and forum, etc...

2. When the "Z's" in general get together for meets, the G35's have been EXCLUDED more than once. There was a meet in SFL where the G35's were told NOT TO COME! There was the Key West drive where we were excluded. Then there was Z-Fest where we were told we could come, but only to watch. They had old Datsun 240Z's, 260Z's, 280Z's, 280ZX's, 300ZX's and even 350Z's but NO REAL SKYLINES were allowed!!! We even had the only FI "Nissan" at Z-Fest and they would not even let us park in the line up. We were not eligible for winning prizes, entering events, etc...

3. Lokey INFINITI does not sell Nissan 350Z's at their dealership (unless someone traded one in for a G35 ). Lokey INFINITI has discussed sponsoring an INFINITI G35 car club, not a Nissan car club in general. The reason that they would sponsor our car club is somewhat obvious. They would like to support our community because we support THEM. They currently install superchargers, TT's, exhausts, springs, headers, camber components, body kits and other aftermarket parts at their dealership. Also, when we show up it has benefited their sales department (at the last meet PimpinPearl almost had to sell his car - and that's a true story. There was a guy there looking to buy a G35 coupe and he kept telling the salesman that he wanted to test drive Josh's car .) Lokey wants to support us because there is potentially a return on their investment AND I'M ALL FOR SUPPORTING THEM! Heck, John's going to install my headers as soon as I get them!!!

4. The current plan is to have "Special Awards" (to be disclosed at the event ), a raffle, free food, prizes, etc... All of these things would have to be for members of (official name still to be determined) the INFINITI Florida Club ONLY!!!

5. Lokey Infiniti is not a HUGE dealership. They do not have a lot of parking. If we have 20+ G35's show up GREAT! Parking is going to be a challenge but we'll manage.

6. The current plan also includes having T-Shirts made that have INFINITI on them, not Nissan.

NOW... On the other hand, I know why Daniel was asking. Richard (or zerotosixty) has the one of the most awesome 350Z's around. He's spent MUCH MORE than $20K on mods and apparently so have a few others from the Tampa area (like Noahbuddy and Tim). I really enjoy seeing what they've done to their vehicles, I'm just not sure this is the proper event to be getting other vehicle makes involved in.

Since the event is so far off, let's not make a decision on this right now. Let's see how many people really send money for T-shirts and membership in January when the "Official All Florida Meet" thread is started. I'll get input from John at Lokey on who should be allowed to attend this meet, details on partial sponsorship, etc... and post everything after New Years in a new thread.

Good Ideas... please keep them coming. Again, where are the PM's with all of the partial sponsorship details?

I didn't realize the Z's have excluded G's to their events. I've changed my mind, I say NO.

 

Out of respect for Lokey and this being our first "All Florida Meet", I think this should be a G only event. We need to walk before we run.

There will be other times and places where we can get both Z's and G's together.

For the record, I do agree with Neffster on the 350Zs- and for the reasons he stated. I have been told by several of you about being ostricized at various meets for having an Infiniti. Actually, you all should be considering yourselves an "elite" group(less the snobby attitudes) and should be proud that your vehicles are special and not run-of-the-mill.

I am here merely to help support you guys, but my vote goes for an EXCLUSIVE Infiniti club. I don't think your goal is to have a huge member roster of 1000's of cars, and you should focus on having a QUALITY group of people with exceptional automobiles. If things get too huge it quickly becomes less personal and more like a "parking lot club".

As for space at our dealer- I can clear out space(more than we did in September) so don't sweat that.

Good luck with this, and I look forward to being a part of it. I would like to hear some suggestions about REASONABLE specials or offers you guys would possibly take advantage of that day. It would be nice if I could show a little business from this to my boss, so he will keep letting us "play". Oil changes, alignments, etc. ????????

 

OMFG, I totally feel you on that idea! When i first got my G and was new to the area, I posted about coming to a Z meet at SFZCC. I was told they wouldn't mind if I should up at the meet by one of the moderators, also if I did show up, prepar to be looked down at ( MY CAR COST MORE ANYWAYS! ) by the real "Z" drivers. And if I was to "CruiZe" I would have to stay in the BACK! When i got my intake installed today, the guy who was doing it was a mod for sfzcc and told me just about the same thing, which imo, is totally bs. I know it's not a Z, but it's the same ****ing car with a diff. emblem on the back, imo. Other than the G looks better, In EVERYONE's opinion. Anyways, again I dont mind if Z's come, infact I was looking more towards a G-Z MEGA MEET rather than a G meet, but I guess your right. **** THOSE ****ERS!! I've been to Lokey many of times prior to getting my G. A good friend of the families was a salesman at the used lot next door. I'll be up in the area next week, perhaps i'll stop by and say hello, maybe we can go over some details, make up a flyer?? MARCH 5th it is!

 

is it to early to start a thread on this?? perhaps you should instead of someone else. LOKEY G Meet March 5th, 2005 post the details, times, directions from SFL, Orlando and North FL. I'll post latr down the road about a convoy up from SFL, and others can post from there locals too.. Looking forward to this!

 

Now that's the enthusiasm I like to see. Actually, the thread will be started once all the details have been worked out. As previously stated, John and I need to talk AFTER NEW YEARS to determine;

1. What the "partial sponsorship" will include.
2. How many sponsors we can get
3. Price on the (insert club name here) T-Shirts
4. What, and how many, items will be included in the raffle
5. Type of food to be offered
6. The time and official date of the event (although March 5th seems to be the date as of now)
7. The number of people we expect to show up (so commit now and sign up)
8. Hopefully a few of you will bring a mod or 2 with you and help support Lokey's service department. We will need to determine if we have to “book our service appointments” in advance too. If you have an annoying warranty item, maybe you could schedule for Lokey to fix it for you instead of your local Infiniti dealership. I plan on getting an oil change and buying a set of OEM windshield wiper blades while I'm there. [still have to get those headers and have them installed too.]

As far as posting details about an organized drive from SFL, that's a GREAT IDEA. I would suggest, however, that you wait for everything to be finalized before starting the thread. One of us will be doing the same thing for the CFL group drive I'm sure.

As of this point we need MORE people to commit to the weekend of MARCH 5TH! Come on, there were over 80 people that I was able to count. Heck, you guys should all be available 3 months from now...
