Per the Florida Association Name Forum: "The idea of not using the "35" in the name was nixed because Pontiac has the new "G6" and I didn't want people thinking that we were the Florida Pontiac Club."

Neff's justification on this is good reasoning.

Florida G Club makes me think of Florida Glee Club. If we have to have Florida G35 Club which I'm not crazy about we need the 35. I know there was a comment made about the name GONE but if this thing is going to be exclusive how much more exclusive can you get then the name GONE (G Owners No Exceptions), it's perfect.
As for the shirts are we going to have a few colors? I vote for some white and some black or grey. Another thing with the shirts is if we have a G on them (which I would imagine we would) what color is the G going to be?

Sean,

At this point we've yet to determine if there will be REGIONAL CLUBS. South Florida just had their first meet and had a pretty good turnout (for a first meet ). They might want to become a "charter member" of the Florida G35 Club. If that's the case, then a Central FL Club (GONE if that is what everyone wants) can be established. I would rather start a LARGE club and then split off from there. It is MUCH easier to get sponsors and larger organizations involved if the group is LARGE and UNITED!

Also, if we have a large club we might be able to do a big meet every 4 months. The first one in Clearwater and the second and third in Jax and Miami (those 2 cities were mentioned in no particular order). It would be up to each one of the groups in Jax and Miami to put together and host the event (but this may be getting too far ahead of ourselves). For now, let's just focus on the March meet and discuss our options while we are all there together.

As far as T-shirts I'm thinking Laser Red. Actually I'm leaning toward black with silver (or grey) lettering or white with black lettering and have several ideas for the logos and layouts already. I'll try to sketch something and post it soon. Russ, do you mind if I use the car from your G35driver sticker as part of our logo?

The list is growing!!!

I do like the idea of regional clubs, although I have to tell you that perhaps I'm a little too envious of your close CFL community If we have a Florida G website, it's inevitable that regional threads will appear just because some of us will have met a couple of times locally or even played poker together (the more advanced of us ). I am aware that many of us haven't met, but nevertheless I think that for example the Orlando guys are pretty cool and funny so I do like to check out your threads. I've been to my fair share of local nissan meets and we've always had people who caravan down from other parts of Florida. We even have our local south Fla website and you'd occasionally see someone from another part of Fla participate in the forums. It has always worked out well, so I've no reason to think it won't work for our G club. It's all going to fall into place after the March meet at Lokey.

As for the T-shirts, silver on black sounds great although I don't know as of now if I'll be attending at all

I want to, but whether I'll be getting a G before March, I highly doubt it.. especially after all their '05 production delays. The meet is at Lokey, so we have to show up in an Infiniti of some sort after all. If I can at least rent one for the day of the meet, I'm so there.

What do you guys (and gals ) think about this as a template for the back of the T-Shirts? It would hopefully be surrounded by sponsor's logos... I have an idea for the front pocket area of the T-Shirt, but will not be able to post that until later tonight or tomorrow...

Remember, if you don't have anything nice to say at least make your own template and post it.

Wow, me likes You've done a great job on the G35 font, that would look sweet in silver on a black T-shirt! Is there any way to slap a Mt Fuji above the "G35 Club" logo to see how that'd look like or would it be too much?

Finiti,

I was worried that the Infiniti Logo might cross into the area of copywrite problems. Does anyone know for sure if we're allowed to use the Mt. Fuji in the logo? I know the NY G Squad uses it, but don't know if they have permission to do so...

Also, the 2005 6MT's just hit CA today, so you should have plenty of time to get your car before March 5th.

i am sure that the mt fuji design is a registered trade mark of infiniti and could not be duplicated (legally) without express written consent.

I think the design could use the word "Infiniti" before g35 to be more descriptive.

Don't let that be a reason not to come. In fact, I'm betting Lokey would love to see you at their dealership, especially since you don't have an Infiniti yet. Also, I'm sure the car your driving now could use one of Lokey's service departments services, ie. oil change etc. I believe if you give them notice, they'll even set aside a G35 loaner for you to drive to the meet in.

Hey Finiti35,
You seem to be as major a voice in the forming of this group as anyone so you should definately make it out in March. I wont have my G there but I will still show up and you should do the same. Either catch a ride or drive a different car.

...or buy a car from Lokey and really help our sponsorship along.

Quick and painful response from Infiniti on use of logo. Next time I think we should beg for forgiveness. I will try with a phone call in the am.

"Thank you for taking the time to contact us personally. Unfortunately, your request to use the Infiniti logo cannot be granted. Thank you for understanding.

In the meantime, if we can answer any other questions you have regarding Infiniti vehicles, dealerships, or the Nissan North America family of companies, please contact us by return e-mail or call us at 1-800-293-0800 and press "0" for a live operator.

At Infiniti, we strive to provide the highest level of customer service.

Sincerely,

Infiniti"

Count me in!

Hey guys! Sorry I've been away for a while. I've been out of town for a while. I've been having a few problems getting logged in since the site redesign (looks great by the way!). I am serving as President of the Raymond James Optimist Club (http://www.rjoc.com) this year. We just put together a Christmas party on December 11th for more than 300 kids and parents and adopted 80 kids for Christmas gifts.

I am down with whatever you guys come up with. I will try to get caught up on everything but I am definitely interested.
