Double Din Nav finally installed

Well, after 4 hours and 4 bleeding fingers, I finally got my nav installed. Attached are some pics. The install was easy, but taking the console apart was a chore. A few things I left out for now (planning to do later) was moving the dual climate control over and adding on the SWI. After seeing how much of a pain it was to take the console apart, I'm rethinking adding those features.

that looks awsome. i've heard taking the console was pretty hard. luckily you have an 05 cause the console for 04 is a lot harder to take off, according to GRider35c, who has done this in both.

Wow, gotta give you props if the 04 was more of a pain than the 05. Actually, since I've already done it, it should be much easier this time. Not sure how some people say they can take it apart in 5 minutes though. One thing that bugs me is that the roof piece above the clock doesn't seem to be in correctly. It seems loose and alittle off.

Yeah, the info helped me. Thanks a lot. The speaker wires from the harness worked fine. I was afraid they wouldn't work with the bose amp, but they did. Unfortunately, it sounds like crap now, but I may have the amps and rest installed next week professionally.

Alright, I'm off to work (and to test out how well the nav works)

The reason it sounds like crap is the bose speakers are 2 ohm, and your Eclipse is pushing 4 ohm through it. Coupled with the fact the Bose speakers suck really bad too

Nice job. Do you have any pics showing more of the dash/center console?

Don't think there's much more to the console than what you see in the pics, but I'll take some more pics of it tonight.

Running that Eclipse through the mickey mouse bose amp/speakers is such a waste. You better get some nice amps and stuff to go with the bling HU I didn't go the LCD route because in miami, you blink and they would go after that. Unfortunately, given how F'n hard it is to get the AC Controller, I wouldn't want some punk *** ripping my dash apart to try and take the radio.

Thanks. The unit is the Eclipse AVN2454. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a cd changer. I'm gonna miss the stock six disc changer. You can add on a cd changer though. I'd only get it if you can put DVD's in the cd changer. I'll have to check. The unit doesn't have a lot of features I'm used to, but dvd's play pretty clear.

Yeah I know - it's just temporary. I have amps and subs ready to be installed. I just wanted to install the head unit myself to save $200+ on installation costs at the shop. I'll let the pros install the amps and subs.

That's exactly why I can't live without a 2-car garage. My prelude was messed with 4 times.

Wow this sucks! I was planning on getting this same unit but if I have to go with one of those old school cd changers in the trunk forget it. I need to be able to change the cd's from the **** pit.
