$4000, rough

okay so i finally took my car to the shop to assess the damage done by wilma......a tree got uprooted onto the roof of my car and there was a huge dent on the roof and a lot of scratches from branches and what not....took it to the shop, $4000 including a new paint job which they claim was necessary, id show you the picture of the tree on my car but i think ive done enough whining about a cable.

Sorry to hear that Drew, I hope your insurance company isnt making it tough on you. Geico wrote me up for 2300 (replace tail lamp cover, the rest paint damage), I still need to get the work done. They were very quick and willing to work with me.

Not sure yet Escobar, I got a couple names from Lokey of shops in Clearwater, and am going to talk to the paint guys at IOCC in the next week or two. I'll let you know who I go with.

They have some guys there every Thursday who do paint work. A friend of mine used to do the same thing, they specialize in paint and do the work for all the dealerships (Infiniti, BMW, etc). They touched up a place near my headlight the IOCC guys scrathed replacing it and did a great job. Its going to come down to who can get it done the quickest, best rate and if I can work out something with a loaner.
