Vibration when taking right curves
Vibration when taking right curves
OK, so just before I got my new rims I was getting this pulsing vibration when curving to the right. I took it to Discount Tire to get a free balancing and they noticed my right front tire was bent on the inside but was stilll drivable. That night I took it to tampa and got my new rims. MOST of the vibration and sound is gone but i still get some when taking right curves. Its not pulsing but more constant.
1) What do you think is damaged?
2) Could this cause damage to my new rim if I continue to drive on it?
3) Is there a chance new springs and struts fix it?
The reason im asking and not just taking it in is because my rims are in tampa and I dont wanna have orlando infiniti come pick up my car and then take my rim off.

Ohh...and about alignments....i was at tire kingdom the other day and they have:
1 year unlimited: $59
3 year unlimited: $129
5 year unlimited: $159
Not a bad deal for us folks who mod a lot with wheels/springs/tires, etc...

If something is wrong and needs to be replaced under warantee, the suspension mods might cloud the issue.

I have also heard wheel bearing could be a problem....but highly unlikely.....
Like i said alignment didn't fix it, wheel balance didn't fix it....sooooo

your new ones to tire kingdom or something and have them put them on the balancing machine and make sure they are fully balanced. also get and alignment so see if that helps
if you have a bad alignment or something to that nature you are goin to eat through those tires quickly.
my car has the pull to the right which can be fixed with the tsb but with the coilovers i dont know what lokey is goin to want to do. they did the alignment so they might warranty it since its a known problem and i just had my alginment done not too long ago. guess its time to call corey

I was a front-end alignment and repair specialist for the Tampa Police Department 'back-in-the-day'. Most vibrations and noises from the front end are tire related. As your tires wear down, they lose the little grooves in the tread called 'sipeing'. The only purpose of the little grooves is to reduce noise. The large grooves channel water out from under the tread. The best traction is attained with a smooth tire (slick) on clean, dry pavement. Slicks are noisy and have zero traction in wet or dirty road conditions.
Also, any out-of-balance condition or bad alignment, causes increased, irregular tire wear. If the tire obtains patterned wear due to these conditions, you will hear a rythmic noise almost like a droneing or bearing rumble.
I suggest you get a friend with a G35 on new or near new tires that does NOT have any noise problems and see if they will let you swap tires with them for a test drive. Since you say it is only while turning, or that turning affects the noise, it is most likely only the front tires.

the problem reduced severely but still some vibration
