And Miata's, Z4's, and S2000 are for women or gay men:eek:

There is an article in the latest Grassroots Motorsports about budget race cars entitled "Your First Race Car." They also have what a fast lap around Road Atlanta is in that car. SCCA and NASA have spec series for these cars:
spec miata ($7-25K) 1:45
formula spec ford ($10-30K) 1:41
Porsche 944 (($5-10K) 1:47
Integra ($7-15K) 1:47
Spec E30 BMW ($5-9.5K) 1:47
Spec RX-7 ($3-7K) 1:47
I'm in the middle of building a spec RX-7 track car with a few modications. I'm going to try to keep the interior intact, and I'll be using a Holley 4-brl rather than the stock carb. I already had the car, so I'm trying to do it now for under $2K.

Levent - you must be smoking some good stuff, there is nothing in the article about a "Spec RX-7" and they don't give it any times for Road Atlanta.
Hope you had a good time at the wedding. I will be in PA again this week and back really-really late on Thursday night. I have to work on Friday, but was planning on leaving early.
I was thinking that since our hotel is only about 10 miles from the track, that I would change my tires at the hotel on Friday night. So if we could get to the hotel about an hour or two before sundown - that would be great.
So we are about 3 hours from the hotel, so you want to plan on leaving between 2-3PM on Friday?
Car is ready and new video camera mount fabricated, mounted and tested! Did your front bumper get sand blasted like mine at Roebling?

Track pads go back on this week, as well as the harnesses. We can leave Friday afternoon around 3 if you like. I don't know however if I'll stay the extra night, I should be getting home Sat night. We're leaving for Jamaica the middle of that week and I have to get some things done around the house Sunday.

Hey Eric, If i knew that you wanted a miata, my work mate sold his miata that was supercharged and also he spent good money on suspension and all the other goodies......he just sold his car for only 4500. ......He spent good money on high end products on his car and he had less than 50k on miles..that was one clean ride
