So how much is it going to be to fix the engine up? That guy looked pretty happy about it. Well I think that guy had fun for about 5 seconds. LOL

Well I guess now he can get one of those high performance 350Z crate engine, cuz that engine looks beyond worth repairing.

 

That "steam stuff" was purged nitrous oxide. Before the race, the driver pushed a button on the console to actuate a purge valve to vent gaseous nitrous oxide out of the supply lines. The purge valve was probably installed in-line, just before the solenoid(s). (There were two or three clouds of nitrous in the clip, meaning the driver hit the button two or three times.) This is a routine procedure.

With the lines purged clear of gaseous nitrous oxide, only liquid nitrous was available to flow through the system, yielding max power on demand. Without a purge-shot, the power of the N2O will ramp-up until a steady flow of liquid N2O begins. With a purge-shot, liquid N2O flows immediately, so max power hits NOW. When you are racing, you would prefer max power to hit NOW.

This is all well and good, but if you overwhelm your engine with too much N2O, the pre-race purge only helps to make the failure of critical parts more sudden/violent, and the death of your engine come about more swiftly... as we saw in the clip.

All i have to say is DAMN. I still think he beat the Evo. Even after he messed up his motor. I couldnt see the evo after the engine blew. LOL nice post

well i wonder what this mean for our engine. this supports the claims that our engine block is very soft. i wonder what this will beam for high boosted G and 350s

 

don't worry our engine can still take a lot. that was 375shots of no2, pretty much OD for any car. Most people don't even run half that.
