Anyone buy a JWT TT yet or have any solid info on it?

What, too difficult for the backyard mechanic ??

$10,600 installed by Performance Motorsport is a pretty darn good deal!!
your sayin its 10,000 dollars for a jwt tt kit parts and labor, installed ready to roll? lets say i wanted to buy a jwt tt kit, do they include the fmic, do you need a stand alone or a piggy back or is competent tuning sufficient, is there anything else that you would need that doesnt come with the kit?

Glad you are interested in this JWT TT kit (IMO best TT kit out there).
First of all, like someone said, you can not just BUY the kit. And, yes, the kit comes complete, and ready to go, everything you need to have the kit installed and running safe. The kit is tuned with a special JWT split second box, a larger fuel pump, and boost regulated fuel pressure. Everything you need and ready to go. You can add gauges, etc. or what ever other changes you may want.
thats a really expensive turbo kit given that the kit is about $6K and labor alone is $4K. i've read articles on the JWT TT about how smooth and factory manufactured it feels. its been said that if nissan and infiniti would of made a stock twin turbo model for the Z and the G, the JWT TT would be the closest unit resembling it. but what do you mean you cant just buy the kit? only licencsed contractors can buy em?
With all this info on the table and the actual installers on the thread now
let me ask what is the Suggested set up to go with the JWT TT that will be the safest way to go...meaning no blow up...or any issues...basically install it...and no worries..
As far as Engine, ECU, fuel management, new cams, a valve body upgrade??
what would be best to get with the turbo kit to further ensure you wont be blowin up or damaging your VQ?
basically would it be best to build up the engine first...or is it absolutely fine if you dont....as long as you use the JWT TT and dont try and go over lest say 350RWHP?
I know its a lot of questions ...but I just want a clear understanding of what I'm asking...its hard to get across typing sometimes.

The JWT has superior Garret ball bearing turbos (the 530's are small, though) inferior engine management (SS box) and no fuel return. What this all mean is that you have a very smooth running system if you stay around 400 whp.
Michael at VRT is the guy you want to go to (he is very close to Jim Wolf and even uses his dyno).
If I wanted a 400 whp car and lived close to San Diego, I would definately go w/ VRT.
JWT now has upgraded Turbos (they look top notch) but for that kind of power you need better eng management and a fuel return.

I was quoted awhile back by PM for just JWT TT plus install/Tune and they gave me 9K. And that was even before they actually start selling the kit.
Looks like many hands raised for VRT...
But I'm in NYC....and word on how the work is at Performance Motorsport?
and again what to get with the kit install that would help ensure a no problem car?
thanks

dude, Performance Motorsport's is an awesome shop! They have been around forever, proven themselves for years and years, have a bad *** drag Z, and many many JWT kit installs. Search over on my 350z if you need to read more about them, ... but they are a great shop, so you are in good hands if you go to them.
Shariff at Forged internals now sells and installs the JWT. The JWTTT w/ the V-pro on the Rev-up motor (stronger internals) is probably the only set up (tuned to about 370whp) that I would be completely comfortable running on a stock block. I would love to have this set up.
Anything else and I would build the motor.

i just got back from new york and my brother had performance put in the jwt. he lowered it, did the sways, and a greddy evo tt exhasut. we were sailing baby! performance is very professional and after meeting the owner personally will say if i ever move to the easy coast would definitely go with them.
of course, all that said, i would also make sure i upgraded the motor and brakes first before any fi work...

V, i gotta shout out out to Performance Motorsports too
i had work done at PM (granted at the time they didn't have a dedicated customer service person so i would get bounced around alot on the phone) but mechanically, their work was excellent.
my car was in there for about 7 hours getting the headers done, and i did get the opportunity to BS alittle with Vinny Ten and he has a really good grasp on the VQ motor (he even took me in the back to their 1500hp drag car and talked to me about it for a bit)
i enquired with them about the JWT kit a few months back, and the price quote i got was pretty normal for a turn-key twin turbo setup, in my opinion anyway. my only problem is, i'm only looking for like 350whp on the stock block (i'm neurotic about blowing up motors), so i dunno if a twin turbo setup is the way i should go, it seems like a bit of a waste for me
