Tuning Questions

I have a few quick questions. I searched and found a few generic answers so i thought i would ask specifics.

1. What is optimum safe A/F for the G35? My evo i run 11.5 all day and thats considered safe for that motor

2. Where have those of you that have them where is your wideband bung tapped into the exhaust?

3. Nitrous users w/ 100shot, have you needed to make any other fuel adjustments like a 255 or piggy back/safc?

4. Finally, Besides a piggyback are there anyother logging devices out there for the G. Has anyone developed any ecu reading/flashing software available for the G or is piggyback/standalone the only way to go for fuel, timing etc..tuning.

2. Where have those of you that have them where is your wideband bung tapped into the exhaust? On the driver's side cat (Kinetix HFC) just behind the header/cat flange.

3. Nitrous users w/ 100shot, have you needed to make any other fuel adjustments like a 255 or piggy back/safc? If you use a wet system with the proper jetting you shouldn't need to, but it's not a bad idea. Check out my350z in the nitrous section.

Cypher comes to mind, also the Greddy Informeter (no programming though), SAFC II I think.

^^^ appreciate the response. What do you see your A/F hit at WOT? I have the evo set to cruise at 14.7-15.2 so sound like the same. Ive just heard some nightmares about the VQ motors hating any type of FI and they grenade really easy. That is all probily BS as long as there is no knock and your AF is great that shouldnt happen unless there are weak parts.
Once i have my G i will be adding parts to it that day so i want to make sure i have everything ready for day 1

Also on the piggyback/datalogging question - dTor already mentioned the cypher. There's also the autogenuity tool, and supposedly cobb is developing a reflash system for the g/z.

the cobb accessport is awesome!! i used it on my WRX and they are making one for the evo as well. I was planning on going that route until the ecuflash/ecuscan stuff came out. To be honest i was a little worried there wasnt much out there for tuning and logging the G. I have only really been lookng into this for a week. glad to see there is more aftermarket support than what i had originally thought.

12's good deal, thanks!!

It really depends on the EMS being used, for most piggybacks are tuned in the mid 10's to low 11's since there is nice to have a cushion for the ECU making diffrent compensations for diffrent situations. With a Standalone ECU like the FCON you could run a car in the mid 11s with no problem because you have total control of fuel and timing. No suprises

Hope this helps.
