Turbonetics Stages

Hey guys,

I know there isn't too much factual info right now on the 1.5 and 2 Stage kits that are coming out but I'm still trying to figure out what ST kit to go with. The problem is I know myself and will eventually want more power (TT is out of my budget really). I was going to go with the APS ST until I figured I know I'd reach it's limits at some point and it isn't upgradeable. So then comes along these Turbonetics with stages. Now my real question is do stage 1.5+ require built engines. I read that 1.5 can put down 420-450 and Stage 2 will be 550Hp out of the box, so obviously stage 1.5 would be pushing it wihout and engine build. So do i go with the original TN kit on a stock block then when I'm tired of that upgrade to a different stage/build the engine? I know some will say doit right and build the engine anways or go TT.

**** im confused.

no im pretty sure that the stage 1.5 comes with the right stuff to make it more safer on your stock block even with 410 out of the box.

BTW, when is it coming out? im waiting on it, any longer and i might go stage one. mia?????

Actually I asked this question over on my350 and I was told if I did that the turbo would be laggy and not run at optimum effeciency. I was told to go with stage 1 for now.

Ok so I was gone for 5 months and figured I'd come home and order stage 1.5. Still nothing on this? Should I just get a UTEC and get on with it?

...seeing as how you say "budget" in your post, I'd say get a stg. 1.5whenever it comes out or a stg.1 with a new ecm and be happy with the numbers, you're looking around 425 and that's an uncomfortable 425 with a stock block....

...if you're looking for more power then that with a TN kit, build and go with stg.2 whenever that comes out. The revisions seem to also have piping changes as well. That's what I'm trying to decide on now, a bigger turbo or stg.2. with my built motor. Probably gonna try to max out the 60-1 first, before I try anything else. I might get 500whp with cams, hopefully.

If you're trying to decide ST or TT. Cheapest way to say, 500+whp reliably from scratch imo, greddy tt + simple engine build. Upgrading a stg.1 to a stg.2 will probably cost you more money in the long run.

What you got planned Meatshackle ?

As it sits right now Stage 1 and 1.5 will not require any motor building. Stage 2 will absolutely require a motor build.

My plan is to upgrade from my Stage 1. I want more control over my ems so I'm trying to decide whether to wait for 1.5 or just add a UTEC right now. I'd rather upgrade to 1.5 but there's no info on when it will be released.

what if you kept the boost under 10 psi? it should be fine.

I am curious to see some of the piping changes on the Stage 2. I remember reading about soem possible piping changes.

At 10 PSI on the Stage 2 turbo and the airflow being produced you will likely surge the compressor at lower engine speeds. Stage 2 is not for the stock motor. it just wont work well...
