You can install a hks FCON IS for the price of the uteck ,keeping the 7th injector is a must if we steel going to run stock injectors ,meaning no fuel system upgrade

For 350hp why not just upgrade the injectors? Don't the Vortech/Procharger guys run this way? What I'm kind of getting at is dumping more and more into the Stillen set up is hard to swallow no matter which way you look at it. Getting a better EM than leads to other inefficiencies in the Stillen set up. The heat exchanger thing will be the next thing to get in the way and than?

Not saying you're not offering the right solutions, but there is a wall and it will get to be a frustrating and expensive path.

Actually i'm seriously considering upgrading the injectors. It will make life much easier tuning wise. However, there are a few things that are holding me back in doing this...
1) As you know passing smog here in CA is a must in keeping those OEM injectors. Not that a stg IV will pass, but i think I would have a better chance with the OEM injectors in place.
2) As you mentioned, i spent way to much money already, in addition to that, i hesitate to remove the SC since it has its own upper and lower plenum. It would be a lot of work to get to those injectors.

I'm just looking for a simple solution if there is such a thing. I've seen 2 stg IV go up in smoke already and i dont want to be the next. And the bad thing about it is, I can hear it ping. It is not a subtle ping, but loud enough to scare anyone when you get on it. I think it is a matter of time before it the engine goes, just trying to do some prevenative "medicine"!!

What year is your car? I'm fairly certain 03+ don't need smog for 6 years as long as the ownership doesn't change in the first 4 years I think. I'll search it up but I found it googling before.

I know of a few that have done their own installs so it can't be too hard to take the blower assembly off.

Not trying to deter you in anyway. Buying it thru Stillen, and having them do the install is expensive I've been there. Have you tried a different fuel? Put in some 100 and see if the pinging goes away.

I have an 03, so this is my 4th year. Will need to smog in 2 years.

I won't attempt to remove the blower on my own. I imagine it probably isn't to bad, but there is no way i can attempt it, let alone install a return fuel system.

Stillen is kind of picky in what they install, and yes they are a bit pricey. But anything that is not smog complient, they will not install. I have tried the 100 octane stuff, and the car ran better with less pinging, but again, i hate to keep paying $6 or $7 a gallon for that stuff. I honest think i just need a good tune.

I have a friend that is running the stage 4 and he went down to Stillen and they supposedly did tune his box. The com port is on the inside opposed to the outside of the regualr Split second box.

I have the cipher program, not sure if you want to try a -2 on the timing? Weird you still ping on 100.

From what I know if you want to mess with the tune on the SS box you have to start a new one. The existing one can't be modified without a password.
