What a timing you have there buddy MRC just posted a few mins after this post the new piping for the STS kit.

http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthre...14#post3890914

He'll be doing the tunning hopefully tomorrow. I can't wait to see what will this do to a Revup. Also I hope that relocating the pipe next to the exhaust will not rob the kit that much power

yea i just saw that. i'm wondering if that's the production kit or MRC's special kit. I want to see numbers, total parts needed + tune,l and total cost. I'm hoping it will be close to vortech's numbers with the same or better reliability.

Julian is really working close with STS and I'm not surprise if STS adapt the same kit. If the number doesn’t change much then STS will definitely consider this change. Hell if STS provided Julian the parts then they are open to the change.

Lewis who had the first kit installed by MRC got around 370whp on 8lbs on an Automatic so the power is definitely there. Just wait a few more days and you'll get more number. There are at least 2 cars being worked on down South East and they are almost done too. This kit is definitely capable of mid 400's with this stock kit.

So building your engine and running a upgraded turbo at around 16psi is not a good idea with this kit?? Btw how much is the kit selling for? I want to get this on my sedan..

The kit is not out yet so price is not set yet. STS have some nasty cars but no import yet. upgrade turbo is a possibility but no one has done it yet on a V6 so stay tuned. The parts that come with the kit are one of the best you can get out there. Tial 38mm Wastegate, Tial 50mm BOV, all JET HOT coated pipes, 440CC injectors, Walbro 255LPH fuel pump, Turbo XS UTEC. Tial are used for High Boost application and Utec is the best EMS you can get beside Full Standalone. I've heard that it should be around $6K.

FYI, this kit will not work with aftermarket exhaust since you'll be replacing it with the Turbo. For me it was a plus since I didn't want one and save me some $$ If you are really looking for High Power Setup then TT is the way to go.

Oh they do have TT setup but they are mainly for V8's. Not sure if V6 can give enough exhaust flow all they way done there to spool 2 turbo . I think once the kit is out you'll see people trying new things

I've seen a kit with twins for a late-model vette...very cool! But it's not any cheaper than a conventional turbo system. However, I'm not sure about safety of the turbo in wet weather...or in the parking lot.

/\ goosegoose from my350z had the first install by MRC and he's been driving the kit for over 3 weeks now in heavy rain and half of that was without the metal shield installed. don't worry coz it's not a problem and i haven't seen or heard anyone with this kit had problem with rain.

Edit:
Rear-mount Turbo is really not a cheap solution but it's more of an alternative.

1. Easy install/unistall
2. reduce heat soak on engine or reduce clutter in engine bay.
3. Sound.. this thing sound like a jet

like I said this kit is not for hard core people but for mild setup that want reliability.

If you park on a public place then it might not be a good idea plus unless they know that you are running the STS then what are the chances they'll look down there to begin with

I only drive my car over the weekend plus my car don't spend the night in strange places. I think my turbo is not the only one in danger if I do park in those places (Wheels, Sound System, the car it self)

I love this setup. My buddy with a 350z has it installed and he is over 400 rwhp. Its funny how he can beat TT cars that have spent over 9-10k on their setup!!!

Still makes me wonder how bad that driver is.

I found the 4.5 and 8.5 psi dynos and plotted them vs my 4.8 and 8 psi dynos just to see how they perform vs the Greddy. The only ones I could find didn't start until ~2500 rpm so a lot of the lag is already taken into account.
