I know one in your area that has the STS but he's boosting 10PSI with 400HP and 420TQ.

Is that STS dyno from here? http://www.my350z.com/forum/showpost...8&postcount=49

It's interesting that the curves match except for the hp / torque actual numbers.

You have to remember that the STS is pushing though a stock exhaust while you get to run headers and bigger downpipe/cat back pipes.

Yea it is.

These were the only numbers I had to go with so I did it just to see. It doesn't prove much. They are different types of dyno's. I have no idea on that tune either. My tune is super-safe with a lot of timing pulled for extra safety here in the 115 degree summers.

I don't have headers, I have turbo manifolds. They are not any larger than the stock manifolds but made to fit the Greddy Turbos.

I'm not saying this is a bad kit or anything. Just not for me. I'm sure they will sell very well. I got my kit with plans to build the motor for more power and don't think this is the best kit for that kind of use.

ttrank first plot is not the same as your link (Jeff92se). The link that you posted is my Dyno and TTrank's plot is from goosegoose. Goosegoose and mine are different setup. My charge pipe is re-routed to go through the exhaust in the middle. Goosegoos setup has the charge pipe running at the side by the jack railing. I forgot Goosegoos high boost map psi but mine is 8psi. both of us are running on stock exhaust and Cat.

Either way TTrank is right, this kit is not for someone who want to go all out or want a monster setup. Just like any ST kit they are all for mild setup and really max out after 450whp.

Athens. Is that your car that they modded their kit for? Wow. But yes, I agree with you guys. This kit isn't the one for big power. Honestly, I'd be more than happy with 350hp at the wheels much less 450WHP! It's nice it comes with a nice ecu like the UTEC vs something like the Stillen SC that comes with the SS box.

I wonder if opening up the stock exhaust would help things?

Ok, I've been driving all night and let me tell you 360whp is more than enough on the street. I've been driving with the 8psi map and tried the 5psi map and I think it's still more than enough for daily driving. I gave my friend a ride who is very hard to impress and he was amazed how fast it was even at 5psi. Kinda weird coz I know I can spin my wheels even at third when I was NA but with this setup I'm having problem spinning at 2nd I think it's either my stock clutch is slipping or not grabbing hard enough. Julian said opening up the exhaust with test pipes and heat wrapping the pipes will help a lot. Right now my intake pipe is right next to the exhaust and Cat and that is probably robbing me some more HP. Julian measured the intake temp and it's almost the same as the TN.

I think I can still squeeze some more HP down the road by heat wrapping the intake pipe and the exhaust side plus removing the Cat will help the exhaust flow better. Utec really help a lot in term of reliability coz it can pull some timing when it detect some Knock. Utec's boost controller solenoid is also nice since in one flip and you have your boost and Map with it The STS kit is having the feel of Turbo but with the jet whining of a SC (almost ) and it is loud but yet pretty quite under no boost. I'll write a review once i'm done abusing this car so stay tuned.

Very nice!

I agree that ~350-400whp is a lot for street driving and much more becomes useless and more of a smoke show. Soooo much fun and the rush of torque you get from a turbo car is such a rush. My Stillen stage 4 never felt that fast because it was so linear. It was deceivingly fast. Turbos are more of an in-your-face fast.

When you say you are having problems spinning the tires in 2nd, is that chirping or breaking loose totally? If you are talking about chirping the reason is the little bit of lag you get between shifts? When you let off you blow off your compressed air in the charge pipe and have to refill it before you get all that power back. That is a lot of pipe coming all the way from the back of the car and through the IC. It doesn't take long, but long enough to take away that instant surge you had N/A. My car will just barely chirp 3rd but once the boost kicks back in a half second later the tires will come loose.

I wonder if a recirc valve would be better. Athens, is it THAT loud? ie.. louder than a Stillen exhaust na? I'm still thinking a muffler could be untilized in some way?

I meant both. I'm having a hard time chirping and at the same time my tires doesn't break loose even in 1st The car really feel fast and scary especially on WOT but my tires doesn't break loose on 1st and 2nd even at WOT all the way to redline. temp was about 68 deg.

hhhmmm, the exhaust sound is not that loud. it's like not having a muffler but with better tone and not that loud. It's hard to explain, I think the sound is a combination of having an aftermarket exhaust and no muffler combined I think I just confused my self there

Now when you're on boost that is a different story. You won't notice the exhaust but you'll here the spooling of the Turbo and when the wastegate open… game over I like the sound coz it tell other cars to leave you alone coz you mean business People are looking at me when I pass by them. The bad thing I guess is that Cops can hear you too If you stay out of boost then you are ok (stay below 3.5krpm) coz the TIAL BOV is quiet on below 3psi. My friends Greddy kit (Civic ) BOV is loud even at low psi.
