Your sig says built engine. Did you do full build on engine w/ block? what kinda rwhp#s u doing now on the APS then?

oh your sig says you dont wanna say more...
u can PM me

TIA
Yep my engine is built but I am dropping compression which constitutes pretty much a new engine build except new rods. I am at 410rwhp and 400 trq but we ran out of fuel so I am also changing out the injectors to obtain more power so hopefully it will all come together at the end of this month.

Sig says that because there are way to many items to list and it's just not necc.

you should a STS single turbo (which has beat many tt cars) and save tons of money and be over 400 hp to the wheels

Are you electively dropping compression now to help to increase boost? What is your compression ratio now?

Or have you lost compression in some of the cylinders in your built engine?

Going through the build process twice? Yikes.

I will be stuck at low boost until a proven 500+ whp AT solution is readily available...

Motor is doing just fine but yes to build more boost safely we have decided to drop compression from 9:3.1 to 8:5.1, it was a tough decision to go through the process twice as I could be happy with just the power I have but I just need a tad more to be happy.

What pistons do you have that are 9.3?

Just curious if you already considered more timing pull, water/meth injection, and finally race fuel mixture to up the octane? You only have 91 as the top octane at most gas stations in CA, right?

Or perhaps cams if you don't already have them?

You have fast intentions exhaust and high flow cats? That's what I have now also. You could upgrade that and squeeze out a bit more juice.

What psi did you run into detonation issues?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm building at 9:1 and we have 93 octane here in NC so I'm hoping I don't approach detonation before reaching my whp goal first (500).

Then again, the 5AT will be the primary hurdle for me. You gonna have Sam work on the tranny at the same time? I am trying to find out more about the GTM 5AT pkg - so if you or Sam can share some details, I would really appreciate it (via PM is fine too).

Thanks and good luck with your build!

Wow, lots of questions..ok;
Well I think Sam has a limit to how much timing to pull and we stopped when we considered it a negative impact on making power, we hit 12psi and started to see slight detonation. 91 octane is the highest here but I want to keep this car completely on pump gas with no additives or race gas.
I have cams and the FI exhaust with test pipes and have considered going larger but Sharif and Sam have both told me the the APS 3 inch is pretty loud and that is not what I want.
Better gas octane should help you out and 9:1 should be just fine, really can't say if you can reach 500 though, there are many other factors involved. I am going to have Sam do all my work on my car( tranny internals will be done later as they have not been released yet), he has already done the 2 oil coolers, catch can and TC and VB upgrade, along with other little things.
