Who has swapped out a different filter on Vortech?
Who has swapped out a different filter on Vortech?
Like the title says...has anyone found a different filter to replace the K&N? Just looking for other options when the time comes to replace. Does anyone know the K&N part number for the Vortech filter?
I used brake duct hose and connected it to the blower and ran it down in front of the wheel well . I then put a huge K&N on the end .Im getting totally fresh air from the side holes on the bumper . I have an aftermarket bumper , but it worked great with the stocker too.

Ive seen some brake duct hose sold at autozone but not sure it that would fit on the blower. Been meaning to do this for awhile. Either that or a 90 deg. silicon hose connected to a pvc pipe w/ a huge k&n intake at the end.
Not on hand . My other laptop took a $hit and all my pics were on it . I used a 4 inch brake hose , clamped it on the blower . It takes a 90 degree down and to the right in front of the wheel well . I used a big , maybe 10 inch cone shaped K&N filter

any pix???
the best thing is to cut a 4" hole in the plastic front clip and run a length of 4" aluminum tubing in the front grille area.
This is basically what I did on my G to make a 350Z Turbonetics kit work. I was worried about rain water getting sucked in the air filter during heavy rains, but I never had one issue!
This setup is similar enough to a vortech setup, in layout. MAKE IT WORK!!!!

Did you bend the AC lines out of the way?
yup.......I just carefully (and slowly) bent the lines with my hands. It was no big deal. The biggest deal was cutting the hole in the plastic and then using an air saw to cut the metal tab that is welded to the A/C line. you have to cut off the tab so you can bend one of the lines.
