Quote: Personally, I'm not too in love with that Vortech whine. I want something more stealth. Plus it seemed the general consensus was that the HKS (rotrex anyway) was the best quality SC on the market. I don't need huge power gains. But something significant in terms of power, while still being reliable.. and relatively quiet.
Hey, no problem. I love the whine...and it's is actually quieter with the smaller pulleys, and you get more power.

For me, I'd shy away from the first generation of ANY product...

The kit may have been first gen, but its Rotrex is a fairly well established supercharger manufacturer.

I understand that, but HKS isn't exactly known for their customer support! Vortech on the other hand, once you get past being on hold - is top notch.

Every vendor does have their crap though...

This is true. If you're not one of their larger vendors, they can be difficult to work with at time.

From what I've heard, it's currently going through CARB

i was just about to ask if this will be CARB approved. if so, it will be a tough (but good) choice between the Vortech and this HKS....

Have you seen a supercharged G on youtube? It was whining and sounded like a cat was crying?

If that was vortech, then I wouldn't put that on my G.

That was a stillen roots type...(the DG one on a lift?) The Vortech is much quieter!

No, check out this video. You can cleary hear the whining. Very unpleasant. And to add insult to the injury, the Supercharged G lost to the STI. So maybe thats why it was already crying. haha.

I've said it b4, G35 are pigs on the tracks. I laugh at people wasting money trying to get it to go fast. Look at how my TT G's are out there. Yet, not one vid of it winning a drag race. Most of the TT G's end up on autotrader.

i would go with vortech, stillen whines to loud imo...

..you could have evenly matched cars or for ex: tt g vs modded sti... and the g could lose for many reasons: weak tune, bad launch, driver sucks... its endless and that alone doesn't necessarily mean going tt on a g is bad

hey guys, sorry i have been busy. the HKS supercharger sounds crazy!! very very cool sound , with a turbo sounding blow off valve when you let off.

as far as the power, it is on par with other systems and boost levels. the kit is very very clean and will be approved and on the market very soon..
