basically we cut off the tabs on the side of the utec, then we grind down the studs that come out the side.

we flip the utec so the plugs are aimed down for easy access. its a tight fit on a G35 and even tighter on an auto G35. very frustrating for sure, but it fits!!

good luck

If you cut off those bolts/tabs, do you retain the stock ECU mounting bracket?

oh yeah, no we cut that in half so just the front part is left, bolt it to the stock ecu still and then to the car.

then we cut off the little tab to hold the black cover on the bottom and bolt it back up.

I shoved my E-Manage Ultimate in between the firewall and the stock ECU. With all the panels on, everything is completely hidden. The USB cable is in the glove box.

Just like Jeremy said!

I cut off the mounting tabs from the Utec. Stock ecu is mounted in its usual location and posistion, but I cut the ECu brack et in half so that it is only held in place by the front 6mm nut. I then cut up the back half of the ECU bracket so that it can hold up the UTEC.

It is a PITA but once you figure it out, it is easy (sort of.) Either go to a shop that knows how to install one in G, or be a hardcore DIYer. Those are your only options. Don't go to a shop that is NOT familiar with having to do this!!!! It takes some ***** to cut up the UTEC case, but that it was it takes!
