Coolant line behind Vortech mounting plate

For those of you that know what I'm asking, that line gets awefully squished when everything is installed. Did any of you trim that line a little because there is a lot of slack in it and then it needs to be squished behind the plate and I'm finding that it kinks a little when everything it tight. Anyone have any tips or tricks they used on this part for a cleaner install so the line wouldn't kink or is it not a big deal to worry about a slight kink.

I'm worried that it will block flow and maybe give me cooling problems later.
Thanks.

If you line everything up like your suppose to, you will be fine. It does squish the line a little, but not enough to fully block flow. I don't think I have ever heard of any overheating issues or anything like that due to that line being the way it is with the Vortech kit.

When I put the Samco Hoses on, I had to trim because the hose was too stiff and not as malable as the OEM hose. OEM you should be fine as is.

One more question on this, did you route the coolant line above the bottom spacer on the drivers end or below? Right now, I've got it above the spacer and no matter what I do its kinked a little, going below seems to be worse? Just wondering how some others have done it.

it has to go above the spacer. just look at the cutout on the mounting plate.

I can't remember. I followed the cutout on the plate though if that helps.

That cut-out ends about 1/2 way across the plate, at that point you really could go up or under the spacer, I went above it as it put less of a kink of the coolant line. Was just wondering if someone had come up with a better way so that coolant line was so pinched coming off of the engine, either way, I got it started and running last night. Need to get it to the tuner for the final tune and all will be good. Thanks.

I routed it under the spacer. Has been running fine for me that way.
