HKS Gt Supercharger released!!

Ok, so I talked to 2 pro dealers today.

HKSUSA has released the gt supercharger, however I seem to be assed out of the equation as I am a revup g 35 coupe.

Complete Kit: Has been carb approved, but will only fit non revup g35 coupes and 350z's

Pro Kit: Not carb approved--special order from Japan--Revup engines--bolt on for 350z. G35 coupes however are rumoured to not be able to fit the gt supercharger due to clearance issues.

This really sucks, as I wanted to get the pro kit, but I'm not sure if it would be cost effective to make custom parts to get it to fit.

Does anyone know why the kit would fit a revup 350z, but not a revup g35 coupe?

I've heard it only fits the non-revup VQ35DE. Rev-up VQ35's, both G and Z, have to wait a little bit. I heard the Rev-up kit is having a few more issues. One of the sponsors may chime in....

^^The complete kit only fits non revups. But the pro kit, for revups can be special ordered now from Japan (6-8 weeks), but HKSUSA said it has only been test fitted on a revup 350z and not a revup g35 coupe, and they anticipate clearance issues with the G coupe

I would go with a turbo anyway. HKS makes great stuff but why waste the power to spin a blower.

For people in California, it's always a big risk going turbo. Getting caught with ST/TT on a VQ in Cali would be hell.

I think im one of the few who will probably take a chance on aftermarket turbo's here in SoCal. California takes smog very seriously, even if the modification itself still passes smog

.

Many may compare the HKS complete kit to the stillen kit--$$ for little gain.

The pro kit looks promising though at 11 psi, with the right supporting mods.

I want to pull the trigger and order the pro kit, but I'm afraid of the $$$ to make custom modifications to fit my g coupe revup--I'm being told that for the money and effort, I could go tt. suks....

Oh man... seriously ... ill love cali till my last breath but fvck our stupid smog laws... who gives a crap about carb legal... ***... THE ONLY criteria they should deem legality of a car by is if you pass smog or not... who gives a crap about carb numbers.... makes the blood boil...

Vortech FTW

I would think that any of the real good tuners could make it work.

I thought of that before I posted and saw the OP is IL.

For CA, I agree and I would go with something like a Vortech with CARB.
