Which Meth injection kit?
I never said the gains would be great, but you can have gains with pure water if you tune for it.
The problem with running 100% meth is when you do that, you need to decrease the amount of unleaded fuel you are spraying for correct AF significantly and so if the meth pump fails, it's instant BOOM.
Adding 100% water without a retune is unlikely to give you more power, but your car will run more consistent and be safer. Water WILL decrease your IAT's just as well as meth. The combustion process is very unlikely to be slowed down enough with atomized water, unless you are dumping it in and have a poorly designed controller.
More power can be had with 50/50 mix of meth water without a retune. You will run a bit richer, but because of the fuel properties of meth the combustion with be cleaner, cooler and more efficient. I'm assuming the car is tuned correctly ~11:1 and adding the meth mix should drop it to ~10.5:1 which is still ok. Now, with a specific tune for the meth mix by increasing timing and leaning out the AF mixture more, since it is safe to do so, gains will be optimal.
Just look up the chemical properties of the two liquids.

/\ Yes, you have to run a good ems and need a retune when running pure meth because of the dramatic A/F drop, not to mention the kit should be able to handle pure meth. Pure meth is also corrosive (Some people will disagree) and that is why I don't like it. This is just me coz if I'm spraying then why not add a small amount of meth (20%-40%) just to have that added octane/fuel instead of pure water alone. 30% meth will not affect the A/F that much and can be run without a retune. As a matter of Fact Snow Performance state that don't touch the Fuel map but instead change the Nozzle around until you get a drop of .5 on your A/F. Snow advice to rather increase timing or run more boost instead of touching the Fuel Map (In this is with a 50/50 mix). just my .02
Quick update. I installed my Snow Performance W/I system. It starts spraying at 7 PSI. I am running just 40% Meth/60% Water and did not do a re-tune. The car is much smoother under boost throughout the RPM range, it also feels quicker. I was going to wait for a re-tune before installing but am glad I didn't.

how do you know you are running 40/60? Did you do your own mix?

225 ml/min nozzle (What they recomended for my baby hp numbers) and I cut the methonal/water mix with distilled water to approx. 40% methonal.
I tried a 25% mix at first and then added more Methonal and it seemed to run even better. I will try 50/50 mix but won't be going any more than that. I think I am accomplishing what I wanted for now. No more pre-detonation, smoother power.

I always figured meth/water was to add timing.
I got one sitting on my dinning room table- I may slap it on and spray water until I build my motor. But then again- I dont really care. Interesting thread- Thanks
