Re: finished vortech install

at idle my blowoff is continuously discharging a ton of air. is that correct, or should it not be doing that?

Freaking sweet install man. Congrats on the blower I didn't know that they were that cheap. Not that 4000+ is pocket change but I figured that FI was a minium investment of at least 6k. So is this a little B-day Present for yourself? If it is Happy Birthday. Cant wait to see that dyno.

BOV should not always be hissing. Sounds like it needs to be tightened.

Re: finished vortech install

That does sound odd, I'm not too familiar with Superchargers, but do these kits come with external wastegate type of devices? Or is it constantly expelling the boost out of the BOV?

Congrats on the install!! That must of been fun, I would definately do that myself except with the TT application, i don't plan on removing headers and such, LoL. Awesome job!!

2x check your vacuum line and tighten the blow-off valve bolt...those are the only ways i can think of that are wrong with your BOV causing it to leak, if that doesn't resolve your problem you may need a new BOV. i experienced slight whistling w/ my BOV under vacuum conditions, which theoretically shouldn't occur, but did anyway.

Re: finished vortech install

the blowoff valve should definitely not be continuously discharging. everybody has the right idea in saying that boost is necessary in order to open the valve. it's basically a relief valve, where a spring is set to open. if it's continuously opening, there must be something wrong with the setting or the spring.

but it's a great looking install tig! glad to see you did it yourself (with some help of course). that's probably the best part (imho). can't wait to see the results of the dyno either. i'm new to the g35 crowd and am not too familiar with the "ss box." is it a stand-alone or a piggy back? again, congrats!
