I download music but I guess I feel different about this because:
A) I like and respect my tuner (Sharif@Forged)
B) Like others said no 2 engines are the same and my tune would 100% blow your engine.
C) These are custom tunes that good tuners spend a lot of time and our $$ on. Not some UniChip BS from the factory.
BTW, if you can't understand the UTEC code you shouldn't be messing with it. It's super easy...

I don't see why posting maps is wrong, its not like there some special code inside each map, you add a little timing here, take away some fuel there, change a few numbers here. So what? if this tuner uses more timing and more fuel than another vice versa does it make a difference if the end result is the same? A solid tune is a solid tune is a solid tune. Is there some magical way to tune a G35/350Z UTEC? NO..... Being so secretive about maps is just retarded. Even if you posted all the maps from a tuner, you will still need them to tune your car anyways, they're the ones with the dyno. Yeah maybe you get get close with the free maps, but being spot on, you really need a dyno + tuner OR pay for longer dynotime to play with it unless you really know what your doing (which you wouldn't need a tuner or free maps anyways in that case).

This is the gamble you take:
Start with a map someone posts up and have to alter it yourself (a feat on its own for a n00b)
Take it to a tuner and know your "safe", but pay the bucks to do it.
You guys are taking into account that EVERYONE that sees the map is going to know what the hell to do with it. Most wouldn't know how to get it from the laptop to which ever computer they are using to tune with in the car.
Should tuners, or anyone else be scared? No. Because 90% of the people would STILL take their car to a tuner who has done this a 1000 times.
Posting of maps would be truly helpful in comparing how each car is tuned. If someone is having an issue they could look up someone elses map and see which area to adjust little by little until the issue is resolved without having to pay a tuner $100 an hour just to adjust the A/F a little leaner for summer and alittle richer for winter (or something along these lines).
