You don't have to change the bumper, but you have to remove the brace that's behind the bumper to make the intercooler fit. If you don't change the bumper then your intercooler also won't be showing and the air won't hit it. It would be best to have it exposed to the air when driving but it's not necessary.

Re: GREDDY TURBO KIT INSTOCK

since this is a single intercooler...which side of the vent (driver or passenger side) opening does it take up? Or is it like SSR Engineering's TT where it takes up both vent slots at the front bumper...?

The IC sits right in front of the radiator, in the middle.

Re: GREDDY TURBO KIT INSTOCK

Any future plans from Greddy to come out with the TT for the Sedan, straight bolt on without any mods...

Re: GREDDY TURBO KIT INSTOCK

Will this kit only work for 6MT? What about 5AT?

Re: GREDDY TURBO KIT INSTOCK

Since the 350z, the G35 coupe, and sedan have the same engine, the kit may fit in the sedan too?

Re: GREDDY TURBO KIT INSTOCK

I have test fitted the 350Z Greddy tt kit on my sedan and it fits just fine. You just have to lengthen the top intercooler mount to reach the latch assembly. You don't even have to modify the front bumper cover...it fits perfectly. You can use the pre-programmed 350Z e-manage and just initialize it to clear the maps. Re-input the tables that can be found on my350z.com and you're ready to roll.

THe thing I really dislike about Greddy TT is that you have to REMOVE the front bumper (not the cover, the main metal bumper). NOT safe.

I agree, I don't like the fact that you have to remove the front bumper support. I wish the Greddy kit had the same type of intercooler set up as SSR. Although I don't know if SSR's kit also requires removal of the bumber kit

Re: GREDDY TURBO KIT INSTOCK

PE certainly does NOT necessitate the intercooler removal. A lot of people are saying that it may have contributed to Frank's demise in his Greddy TT sedan, as the airbags did NOT go off upon impact.

I do not mean to make any accusations against greddy, but it is fact that the bumper HAS to be removed to install the IC, and i am PRETTY SURE (though not 100% so) that the bumber is somehow part of the cascade of activating the airbags, wouldn't you think?

Picture the following scenario: you have a small fender bender involving the front of your car. Given that there is NO bumper, a VERY minor impact will destroy the front of your car, including the IC ($1500), radiator (~$600), the radiator support brace ($380) and God knows what else. Not to mention, that when your insurance company shows up they certainly say "are you kidding me?".

Re: GREDDY TURBO KIT INSTOCK

I am just having my installer fabricate a bumper support that will fit with the intercooler. They are cheap and easy to make and will protect the intercooler in such cases.

The problem with Infiniti's bumper brace is that it is made out of aluminum so it has to be bigger. It's about 4" square. The one that I am having made will be made from round rollcage steel and is only 1" to 2" in diameter.
