That would work just fine.

3 inch downpipes are even better, but they are more expensive, and require more installation labor, and the open dumps are LOUD.

This would be the main reason you would want a tune. You would make more power by leaning out your tune however you are running the risk of detonation.
hence why you would want a tune lol.

if my car is running pretty rich, adding the test pipes would lean out my tune a bit right? so would it be safe to run the test pipes without a tune since it will lean out my tune?

open dump question means.. wastegate opens into the atmosphere not back into the exhast???

how about the opposite....

What if you take off your test pipes? Do you need a tune?

That's correct. Open dumps vent to the atmosphere, vs. a recirculated setup, that returns the bypass gases back into the downpipe, and out the exhaust system.

You will richen up, and make less power, but its not unsafe.

So in this case, a retune is not required from a safety standpoint, but recommended, in terms of maximizing your power.

That's why you route the back into the 3" exhaust at a smooth angle down the line.

That looks great! We did a set a while back. I just wish we could make them quickly, and for less money.

That's the best of both worlds right there.
