Have greddy TT, adding test pipes. Do i need a re-tune?

Hi guys, I was just wondering. I have the Greddy TT kit with a Greddy SP2 exhaust. I was just wondering if i need a re-tune if I add test pipes to my setup??

depends if you want to see any gains on a dyno. if you are tuned spot on with cats, you most likely need a retune to see the gains with the test pipes.

will a retune make a difference to the butt dyno? most likely not. but louder is faster right

it would help since tp and exhaust will cause your car to run more lean. to maximize power out of your new mods you would need a tune. It is however not necessary.

This would be the main reason you would want a tune. You would make more power by leaning out your tune however you are running the risk of detonation.

If it was tuned with the exhaust, then no. If you don't want to, but you can run into detonation if you don't

Yes you need a tune. Any slight modification can be the difference between life and death of your motor.

Definately get it to the dyno to check. In almost all cases, you will end up running a little bit more boost, and a little bit lean (due to the reduced back pressure). Shouldn't take but a few pulls to richen it back up for safety.

Bolting on test pipes, and driving away, is a risk not worth taking.

thanks for the input guys!

i actually am running on a very conservative tune right now (running pretty rich)

will the test pipe lean things up a bit and just require a lil of bit of tuning?

yes re-tune.. you'll make more power with the TT set up too when you run test pipes =)

you'll love it, but retune for sure.. why spend the money to mod if you're not going to take the full advantage of it?

Spend the money and retune as to not take any chances.I only picked up about 11rwhp but i gained 23rwt with the test pipes and Dave at FunctionTuned had to make a few adjustments to the original tune.

helix TP

I also wanna add to this...

I'm doing a greddy TT setup with the Evo TT exhaust.. I also have Helix test pipes which are 2.5" dia... Is this a good for my setup meaning the test pipes it self.. They have no resonators so it’s a st8 pipe..
