damn still havent decided yet? Dude 10k? Yeah you cant even go vortech etc. safely especially if you're an 5AT and want to be 100% perfect, more then 10k for sure, I suggest you get a Stillen Stage 3 or 4 and call it a freaking cars life haha, around 7500-8k (w/ the hood) installed, and done deal, 320whp and a smile on your face with a cool noise Then with the rest of the 2-3k, get a exhaust system and intake, done!!!! Thats all you need with stillen, anything else you loose power hahaha.

Subscribing to this thread. I also have 5AT and have been considering my FI options as well. Good thing is I still have a lil ways to go before the FI fund is mature.

BTW, did the OP ever post up some updates to what he ended up doing with that $10,000?

Why doesn't anyone suggest Procharger? It can push much more boost than the Vortech.

Doesn't control timing with standard kit.

Doing it right away would definately safeguard the tranny.

JWT Twins ARE just as reliable if not MORE reliable than a vortech. Every week I see a new thread where someone's Vortech has failed. I've never even seen a blown motor on a JWT setup, though I'm sure there has been one or two.

All I have on my car right now is pretty much out of the box 530bb JWT Twins, HKS exhaust and right now it put down 355whp and 321wtq on a conservative tune.
Do you think it might be because of JWT authorizes installs versus anyone being able to install a Vortech along with the % of people with JWT kits as opposed to Vortechs? I would imagine a large chunk of blown motors is more or less an issue linked to something a proper tune could have resolved. Is it also not a case that when SC blowers fail that they cause significantly less damage to the engine (if nothing at all) as opposed to a turbo which will more or less take the motor with it? Vortech boost map is also 2D as opposed to a 3D boost map of a turbo which requires a better engine management system and a capable tuner to tune it. Not to mention the issue of power delivery (someone correct me if I am wrong though).

I just think a Vortech is a better match up for a stock block than a twin turbo but if I had a shope like Forged/GTM and could get a solid tune, I wouldn't mind going either way.

Well that's just a matter of tuning that can be solved through the 5k left over if you purchased one . A larger intercooler would be on the list as well. I realize it isn't a complete kit but mixed with the right stuff far more worth it than a vortech.

People on this site always blow FI costs way out of proportion (usually people who dont have boost). You'll be fine with 10 grand. My setup cost me $5,800 installed with upgraded pulley, upgraded fuel system, straight pipes, boost gauge, custom tune, with some extras. Mind you it was a used kit, but my shop does a brand new one installed out the door for $6800.

TT, especailly smaller turbines like GT25r has a much broader torque curve than a SC and spool VERY fast. I've driven both and to be honest at the end of the day I'm glad I spent a little more and went TT.
