Would anyone recommend a fuel cells if going custom on a drift car??

Fuel cells are a safety requirement for many racing organizations. I don't think the current drift series require fuel cells. You can easily drift without a cell.

 

+1 on what Sharif said.... One thing I see a lot of pro drifters using is a surge tank setup.

Yeah dont go with one unless you NEED it. They are costly if you want to do one properly and keep all the same functionality as the stock gas tank.

 

i was thinkin bout doing it to save a weight and fuel flow on my car.

 

And chances are there isn't one made specifically for the 350z/g35, especially with the "saddle style" tank. So you'd have to do a lot of work to get one in.

Oh please, I wouldn't go that far form what I have heard lately. \

A fuel cell is a big undertaking and sometimes a necessity in a lot of wheel to wheel racing. It is borderline needed in drifting depending just how safe you want to be. You would probably just be fine without one.

 

Mines in and done.

 

Was it a PITA to do?

Did one in a Porsche GT3 cup car....what a chore to get it in.
