Seeing how you're not in California, I would probably recommend the JWT 530's. With a good conservative tune, it should be more than fine on the stock block. But this is just one alternative of the many out there.

More details on your setup? A used kit? Any gauges? Tuned? Getting all the necessary parts (and labor) for 350-400 rwhp on a stock block is going to cost anywhere from 8k-10k.

The kit itself, gauges, injectors/FP, labor + tune is not going to cost 4k unless you cut alot of corners.

Honestly, very few tuners would recommend single turbo's and no one would recommend the turbonetics kit. The problem with big turbo's is big lag. If you want usable power, go with a TT setup or vortech kit. If you have the cash to spend, definitely go turbo, and not SC.

if you think 3.5k is lag then fine but im more than happy with it. and yes i know VERY few would recommend the turbonetics kit becuase it is a pain in the *** and has many problems BUT it does put out decent power levels. JEE 35, if you want a ride to see the power level pm me, im in the rockville area

Here is a very informative thread:
http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112693

You say you want some good kick but safe. A S/C is deffinately safe but the TT has the kick that you want and can be safe with a good tune. I see you are in Marylan so Function Tuned is not to far from you. I think a JWT 530BB kit would be absolutly perfect for you.

Because what is the difference in price with tradeing your G in and a new 335i? A BIG difference. I personally would go turbo. Think about it, How many people do you hear/see going from S/C to turbo? ALOT, Now how about from turbo to S/C? Little to none. Hope I helped.
