Yea, I got the V3, so I don't have to tap. It was actually the same price, so I changed my order a day after I placed it, because I read people were having problems with the spacer. I got the full kit, not the tuner, so I should have everything I need. But I was wondering, what actually needs to be be tuned? Since it doesn't have a stand alone what are they actaully adjusting?

Nice man. I installed my tuner kit a little over 2 weeks ago. I still havn't gone over 4kRPM. Imagine how hard that's been. It still hasnt been tuned because i'm waiting on some test pipes and new exhaust to show up.
I have the AAM oil pan spacer, with a special port plug to -8 and a -8 aeroquip to 1/2 barb fitting. Barbs are big and hose takes time to slide on. The hose is a special inside braided goodyear 1/2 rubber hose for oil. Hose clamp on the compressor side and 2 zip ties on the barb.
No leaks.

PharmD, is the problem with the spacer that the oil return cant push through the volume of oil that's already in there, thus not cycling oil fast enough?

So maybe I didn't read enough...But whats the difference between the tuner kit and the full kit? The tuner kit was almost 600 cheaper, but it didn't have everything you would need to run it. So why would you go with the tuner kit. Now I understand if you want to run the 2.87 pulley and you need the larger injectors and fuel pump right away, and are going with a stand alone. But running the 3.33 or the 3.25 it should be fine running the kit as it is from vortech no?

Basically its minus fuel & timing management. Its a known fact that doing your own fuel & timing management (walbro and utec) can net you another 20-30whp. It ends up costing more but you get more out of it. The Full kit is good for those people that want bolt on power and aren't really into fine tuning. Stock 3.33 and their management is fine, as for using smaller pulleys on their fuel management, you'll have to call vortech.

I had mine installed on saturday. Today I took it to a unichip tuner and showed them my logs from my Cipher. Their tuner took a look at it and the AFRs on a 3rd gear pull were running from 11.2 to 11.7. He thought it was perfect and told me he thought it was plenty safe.

I have stock cats which is a big deal when it comes to these full kits and the "stock" vortech out of the box tune. If you have HFC or TPs then I'd suggest changing them back to stock ones. The only other mods I had were as follows:

Non-Revup lower plenum
5/16" spacer
low temp nismo thermostat
nismo headers
nismo exhaust

so really my car was fairly in stock condition.

everything runs wonderfully and I'm having a blast driving it.

I'll put a review of everything once I have more time and log more miles.

EDIT: My mistake. I saw that you had the V3 but didn't realize you were a non-revup from your '04. I don't know how well the SS Box runs right out of the box. My experience is from the Unichip setup that comes with the REVUP model. Again, apologies for the confusion. You'll love the V3 though, it's very easy to change the fluids and check them. I'm gonna go buy a spare set of allen wrenches to leave in the car just in case I ever need to change the fluid on the go. Additionally the fluid is only $10 each time making it not an expensive venture.

Taping the block takes all of about 15 minutes... and look at the hassle it saves you! Broken bearings, buying a more expensive spacer... plus its actually done right. Being slack and cutting corners will only make you cry in the long run.
