I found this response from Performance Factory very bemusing:

"thanks for all the compliments guys. we all know the place to go in Florida...."

(See http://my350z.com/forum/forced-induc...s-fails-2.html)

This was put in the thread where Jtrain was irate over a tune that he thought was running too rich (even though Sharif at Forged Performance even said the tune looked fine). Moreover, Jtrain did not bring this issue to the attention of Japtrix until somewhere around 6 months later, and was upset thay they would charge him to put the car on the dyno.

Now, chris'smax just picked up his car less than two weeks ago from Performance Factory. On 9/25 he posts:

"Just made it home!..." (See http://my350z.com/forum/forced-induc...-0-8-a-11.html)

and 3 days later, he posts the following thread:

http://my350z.com/forum/forced-induc...ome-input.html, in which he states in his first post:

"Coming of the interstate the other night after doing a full boost run the car suddenly backfired and then shut off."

On 10/2 he posted:

"it runs fine at idle and when driiving regardless of driving style. The determinig factor is when the car gets heated up. If i drive it around it warms up faster. If i let it idle in the driveway i can let it run for awhile. Like last night it ran for over 20mins sitting in the driveway till i decided to go drive it around. I drove it around for a few mins in the neighborhood and then parked it in the driveway where i let it run for a few more mins until it crapped out again. Once it died i tried starting it up and it cranks right up but immediately starts to sputter for a few seconds till it kills."

and

"ok i bought a navigator today so i can at least get sensor readouts from the f-con so we will see what that shows. now i am reallllllyyyyy broke lol"

Would you rather have a tune that is slightly to moderately on the conservative side, but that even Sharif says is a good tune, or be in chris'smax position where he cannot even keep the car running right?

Nonetheless, I saw no other tuners jumping into chris'smax thread and making the kind of comments that Performance Factory made in Jtrain's thread.

Well, if they delete this thread, they also should delete Jtrain's thread bashing Japtrix.

No.

This is a totally different subject. This thread is not about Jtrains build or about chris'smax build, but about Performance Factory. If there can be a thread about Japtrix, why can't there be a thread about Performance Factory and, what I consider, to be opportunistic posts, the likes of which I have not seen other tuners make?

Being candid, I also think that Jack’s initial responses, and maybe some of the others, in the Jtrain thread also were inappropriate for a tuner/builder - sorry Jack. The first post should have been the one with the dyno chart, and then he could have let that do his talking for him. Maybe he even could have explained the dyno results. I think that would have portrayed Japtrix/horsepower logic in the best light given the circumstances.

I guess what I am getting at is that the tuners/builders need to be held accountable when they post crap in these forums. From what I have seen, Sharif at Forged Performance and Sam at GTM are examples that the other tuners/builders should follow when posting in these forums. (I have not followed all of their posts, so if there is something I missed, feel free to bring it to our attention.)

Also, as XKR quotes with every post "EVERY SHOP makes mistakes but it's how that shop handles those errors that define them....by Dr Philthy". This is true, these shops are run by human beings, and nobody is perfect. Mistakes are going to happen. But when one shop makes a mistake or mishandles a particular situation, and it ends up in the forums, I think it is in poor taste for another shop to post self-serving opportunistic comments, especially when they themselves are not perfect.

Yea i understand that PF is a vendor on this site and paid like 1000$ so they are "protected" by the mods that are friends with him.. but the skeletons need to come out of the closest PF is not the angel you think they are.

The fact that PF treats all their customers = and that they are so good with customer service is B.S. they may treat the people taht shower them with moeny and sexual favors with respect but its only based on the fact that they will keep milking them of what they are.... $$$$.
