Maybe you didn't make it to the Z-Days. I'm in Tampa, Carrolwood actually. Where are you? Let's take this private.

Esemes-
Are you going to the Central FL G-Out on July 10th? I'd love to take a ride in your G! Also, if you're not too shy about telling me how much you spent on the unit, installation and tuning IM me with the low down. I'm swaying back and forth about waiting for the warranty to run out or just financing another $6 or $7 for the next 4 years. For another ~$150/month I could have one super sweet ride. And the interest would be tax deductible (selling point to gain the wife's approval). Also, what is the warranty w/ Vortec?

301-bhp!!! ...and growing!

Re: Vortech final numbers

Esemes, nice setup.

However, who told you that the Mustnang dyno numbers convert as they do? This is the exact opposite of what has been reported on the forums, and from what i know about dynos. There were several Z's a while back with a lot of N/A bolt ons that got 302, 304 wp on the mustang, but when they took it in for Dynojet dyno, they got around 268-270. So who knows.

Mustang dynos read LOWER, MUCH LOWER numbers than dynojet. This is the dyno where the remove your rear wheels right? The weight of the wheels alone impedes HP gain. Aside from that, mustang numbers are corrected differently than dynojet numbers.

Also, what Psi are you running at. That can help me/others in seeing if the numbers are reasonable. I assume you are running the standard 8psi pulley on it right? If so, 360 is by far the highest i have seen for any supercharger, including Vortech. So your numbers are great, but they are not 400 whp.

Gurgen

Re: Vortech final numbers

Very impressive numbers, Scott. Those are the highest i've seen with the vortech kit. Glad to see you that you've got everything worked out (BOV problem) and the car is running great. Next time I'm in clearwater, you'll have to give me a spin. I hope you can come out for the G gathering July 10th.

Did Sean get his G yet? Coupe or sedan?

Re: Vortech final numbers

Are you guys having any fuel problems? From what I've seen there is no way the factory fuel system can accomidate ~400hp. I ended up getting larger injectors and a bigger fuel pump to hopefully supply enough fuel...

Re: Vortech final numbers

KP-

no fueling issues at the present... the kit came with an aux fuel pump, to boost pressure (inline) considerably...... (pushing 100lbs at full boost)

as for the Mustang vs. DJ dyno debate, this month's issue of "Nopi Street Performance Compact" shows a stock 350Z reading 190.1 and 183.7 lb-ft hp using a mustang dyno..... (per vortech's claim, which is taken w/ a grain of salt, of course.... just trying to add some backing to my knowledge/experience).. their after - install results are very similar to mine as well - (301.3 & 259.5 per their dyno again)..... admittedly, these b-4 and aft. ###'s seem a bit low....

of course this is without custom mapping again........

Neff- PM me and i'll go into detail (maybe best that we talk instead - my typing is terrible)

I would like to meet up with you, ese. I'm going to Bradenton 1/4 track this Thursday evening. Would you like to meet up and test your coupe out?

Re: Vortech final numbers

Hey Gspot--

i am looking foraward to meeting new fellow z/g'ers, but have no immediate track plans (more of a test of me than the car-launching is a diff task, even stock...).....

im still being a bit careful (and awaiting some other mods) before i let her 'rip' for more than a little at a time. Probably overcautious, but im that way i guess.....
