Am I at the limt for stock block?

So right now I have:

04' g35 coupe 5at w/ VB mod & tranny cooler
9psi procharger
440cc injectors
walbro 255
utec
nGK 1 step colder iridium plugs
custom true dual 2.5" exhaust

al internals are stock.

Just wondering if this is the limit of the stock block to run safely?

any info is greatly appreciated

I have read here many, many times that anything over 400 WHP is hard on stock block.

Sounds like you're pretty close to the "safety" limit. What kind of numbers are you hitting?

Too many variables to really say, every engine is different. It’s all in the tune, but generally a SC is not as hard on the block as a turbo is (less tq). Need a little more info.

I had over 400 whp with my Vortech with similiar mods to yours and the engine was fine for over 30,000 miles but my tranny clucthpacks started to let go first with about 330ftlbs trq.

When I bought the kit it had a pretune from SFR, but I have yet to get it finely tuned to my car. I am going to do it soon.

I was wondering also what the limit of the internals would be and also if I can safely run a little more boost.

"a SC is not as hard on the block as a turbo is (less tq)" Say what?

If equal flywheel power --- most forget that the supercharger is consuming 20-40* HP just to turn it, so all things being equal the supercharger engine must make 20-40 MORE just to show the exact same rear wheel HP/ Torque.

*Radial chargers consume less than axial superchargers to produce same boost

No matter how much tuning and safety percautions taken any forced induction stock internals is just asking for trouble. I mean as mentioned above everyones motor is different but in most cases its just a matter of time.

This is the main reason (other than $$$) for staying NA.

+1. If you dont have the money to play around with boost and another car to drive around when your down you are pretty much @ssed out. I toyed around with the idea of boosting the VQ on stock internals but after reading so many hooror stories I just waited. Finally by the end of this month my built motor and turbo will be in.

The amount of whp lost to turning the blower keeps going up as boost rises . The blower gets harder to turn when psi goes higher. And then he has the problem of having an AT5 tranny which eats up more power

Yea I do have a daily driver this is my fun car. I just don't know if I want to go that far into it yet as to wor in the internals. I don't mind staying with the amount of power I have, I was just wondering if it is possible to squeeze out a little more safely.

As booger said, being that the parasitic effect rises with boost.

seeing how it hasnt been tuned to your car, then yes i would say your in the limit

get it tuned and you should be ok, anything under 450 rwhp is usually ok w/ a good tune
