Gurgen,

Now that you got the extended capacity oil pan, how much oil will you have to put in? Does the new oil pan come pre-tapped for the lines to feed oil to the turbos? I'm assuming the fuel pump is a Walboro? What spark plug wires will you be using? And what plugs are you running? I'm assuming they'll be a step colder? Sorry for all the questions. Just curious and envious. =D

DK,

I am running a step colder iridium. I do not know what you mean about spark plug wires - ther eare individual coils and hence no 'wires' in the traditional sense (like on old cars). The pump is the Walbro 255l/h one - in tank replacement - very nice - not need to hack up fuel lines. The pan does have all the ports for tapping for the turbos. It provides 1 extra quart - so my oil changes will invlove 6 quarts of oil! I will be running Redline exclusively - 10w40 - following the advise from the gearheads of bobistheoilcan.com

Don't hesitate with the questions!

No - and prolly won't be.I'd rather have the failsafe nature of the mechanical fan at the expense of 5 horsepower (have too many ponies at this point already). I do however need to do something about the backup aux fan that sits in the front of the radiator. We had to take it out for now - let's see how the car behaves.

Ah yes, forgot that our cars don't use wires and are distributorless. Thanks for the correction. I'm still thinking about my former car which had a distributor and all the good stuff that comes with that. And it was a horizontally mounted V6 so changing the plugs on the rear bank was a hassle. Good choice on Redline 10w-40 for the oil. To my understanding you generally want to run a bit heavier weight oil with turbos. And damn, Redline x 6qts + Oil Filter = $50+ per oil change! Gotta pay to play.

Gurgen,
Great to finally see some FI love for the sedan. How much horses are you expecting out of the PE kit?
Can I take a look at your set-up when you come back up north. Heck, I'll even buy you lunch.

Re: PE TwinTurbo Install - It has begunnnn! *Pics*

of course - how about we jus tget lunch (no need to buy).

Well guys....here it is - THE FINAL PRODUCT. This is the sweatest look on the G that I have seen, certainly from the front, before you see the stock rims The "absolute cleanest G I have seen" award probably belongs to Clint IMO.

The interior is not gonna stay that way . That is just a wideband a/f, boost gauge, and the techtom unit to show timing.

So you want good news or bad news first - it's that time now!

Good news:
1) The quality of Richard's and the others' (installers') workmanship is absolutely superb. Look at the last image above - he trimmed the inside edge of the bumper to fit the intercooler piping - have you seen that flush a fit - perfection!
2) the sound of the engine idline (or @ light driving) is virtually indistinguishable from stock - very much unlike a supercharger setup.
3) You hear this sweat turbo spool up/spool down sound, suttle yet very cool, during abrupt rev's (i am sure that's not a word).
4) The car runs with NO engine problems whatsoever, it is VERY smooth.
4) The car is only at ~4.35 psi now - and it pulls OK. Yes, just OK (see the bad news next).

Now here is the bad news (i really thought i got away with one without major problems - alas was not to be).:
1) The Torque Converter (or the rest of the tranny) is slipping big time! Todashi and Rich found it to be very weird. I hit the gas, and see the rpm needle jump 2000rpm without the car making a move! The jury is still out on the TC though, it may very well be the rest of the tranny. But given the history of the car pre and post-TC, I strongly suspect the TC to be the culprit. We'll know soon enough; until then i will reserve my judgement. The weird thing is that several other people absolutely do NOT have this problem with a modded TC.

Anyways - that is what it is! I am no stranger to things not going smoothly with the car. We'll see what the car does then.

I will be going to Palmdale as soon as I become sure that i won't blow myself to kingdom come with the next WOT run! It is wisest ot get to know the car - especially how it will react at higher elevation.

I thought FI was not affected by elevation changes?
