As far as your temp gage being in the same position...how accurate is the temp gages on these cars? I ask this because on the SS camaro, it's basically a dummy gage from '00-'02 becuase it doesn't move passed 210 degrees for temperatures between 208-228 for so!!! It wont move passed 210 unless it's really overheating I guess GM did this to not scare customers of overheating(the camaro has no real functional grill so air is directed from underneath with an air valance, so temp can fluctuate quite a bit). Anyway, try using real time data and see how your temp is doing. I live in whittier, if you want to monitor temp while driving with my autotap.

Daniel

We made a quick observations by using DaveO's techtom unit yesterday @ the Bova meet. Get this, the intake temps (@ the MAF) were on par with the stock airbox temps. They ranged from 118 to 130 (driving to idling at rest). According to some tests run by Dave, the unit setup results in an even lower temps than the pop-charger and the stillen intake. I was pleasantly surprised.
Also, as for the coolant temps, they were also on par with stock. And the gauges are pretty sensitive, for a second i did see the gauge rise 2-3 tickmarks above "horizontal" after I shut down the engine for about 3 minutes in 90+ degree heat. The rise was momentary (3-4sec), just after I restarted the engine the needle started to come down to "normal". I do definitely need to remount the aux fan though, and I will be doing that sometime soon.

Also, I would like to take you up on your offer about the autotap, not only to get a "second" opinion, but see the unit itself, as i am on the market for one. Today is Sunday, and I am 10 minutes away (in MOntebello). Let me know if it today works for you. Thanks

Gurgen

Bullseye, thanks!

YES, I forgot to mention. My exhaust has gotten WAY quieter. It is still noticeably mean, but does not cause a headache after 5 minutes of driving . It is great.

They're still there. I'm assuming you're refering to the intercooler shot? They are temporarily removed durring installation.

Gurgen,

Looks awesome! Quick q: where is the oil drain plug? Am I blind, or do I not see one on the new oil pan?

You know what, I just don't remember. I would assume it's on the rear of the pan.

Nice setup Gurgen!

As far as tranny, I would keep the 5AT rather then 6MT since as your power increase over 400HP (your goal right?) it will be much easier to control AUTO on the track. Auto it seems very strong, but first, you need to fix that TC or just order the stock one from 2004 models.

Second, as long as you not running lean you stock internal should hold enough boost. how much? who knows. You need a good Fuel Management and I would shoot for 8psi with enough fuel delivery to keep a/f in high 11s at WOT.

I actually do have a very nice fuel-return featured fuel delivery system, and it is controlled by the OEM ECU with the appropriate reflash!

Got the TC changed out, not much difference unfortunately, but it seems as though my a/f curve is a little smoother.

I am posting some numbers now, so please check out the other PE thread!

As far as getting one of these, you jsut need to talk to TechnoSquare nad have them order the kit from PE USA (for that matter, you can go through any retailer). There is a wait for this kit though, sometimes as long as 2-4 months (unless things change in the near future - possible).

The last statement there is not true anymore. PE USA have made great strides in the supply of this kit (which was expected, given that they opened about a year ago). I saw ~8 G35 kits and ~13 Z kits just delivered... and 2 G35 kits were sold that day they came in. ANyways.... just an update
