I've got an SFR VB, and it's f-ing awesome. Shifts crisp and hard... I'm actually de-modding my car, so it's for sale!

I ran the stillen sc for a little over 3 years and its been with the Greddy twins for allmost 2 years.I have a ForgedPerformance vb and it shifts hard but is docile when driving normally......at all costs do not get the stillen vb as its is junk.

with a vortech , any tranny mods really arent needed . But adding a valve bady will help with shifts . I would add a tranny cooler also .

I have the SGP valve body and it shifts hard but isnt stock felling in several respects . It down sifts to hard when creeping to a stop .

Talk to Canadian, I think he's done a fairly serious AT upgrade.

I was also curious about this, as I have been reading up about the Vortech... seems like something I'll want to do eventually.

So if you're putting down ~400whp I've heard that you need to do a valve body upgrade, opinions on this?

What about redlining in auto mode? I've read something somewhere about this. Is it common? How can you get around it without being in manual mode when you race?

Im running SGP valvebody and SGP tc with my APS twins and i love it. If you are going to be making more than 400whp you may wanna consider the GTM stage 3 trans.

how do you know? Frankly any boost on the 5AT tranny is touch and go. The only real problem under boost is that the transmission doesn't shift gears fast enough with the added power. A VB upgrade is a must at one point, and realistically a fully built tranmission is a smart idea as well.

I have yet to see a 5AT fail due to any boost, no matter the power the engine is producing.

OP a tranny cooler is a smart idea as well.

Yeah, he had a fully built transmission. He already had a VB upgrade done and his transmission was slipping on the dyno.

Actually mine did start to fail, the rpms would just go up and the tranny would not shift into the next gear, a good sign that the clutchpacks were on there way out. I was pushing 430 with the Vortech when this happened.
