Hal's 6speed street 350Z runs 9.8 @ 148mph!!!

Last weekend I decided to put some stickier 27" DOT tires (hoosier quicktimes) and take my personal street car to the track. I have only made 3 passes in the car prior (11.0 on 18" street tire setup) and this day showed what a little seat time will do.

Quick info: Full weight, full interior (including spare tire), uncaged, 27" DOT tires, VP Q16 fuel, no nitrous installed on the car.

Run 1 - 10.8 @ 145 (1.9 60')
Run 2 - 10.1 @ 146 (1.77 60')
Run 3 - 9.8 @ 148 (1.66 60')
Run 4 - Launched harder and got a little squirly, aborted run

Sweet runs but how in the heck did they let you run not caged. All the tracks in the mid-a will kick you off without a cage doing those times.

Keep your windows up and play the part (helmet, fire jacket, etc)

Hal, how did you work the clutch in 1st? Did you slip it through first or just drop it? If you slipped it, how far did you slip it?

Slip, trying to hold the car on the verge of traction. Still needs some perfecting, as it was a poor 1.66 60'.

1.66 is poor for you, eh? So what would you do with an auto? I'm hoping with the yaw sensor disabled, I'll be able to hook up the 2 step to the brake light switch without a problem (car under the knife for this small surgery this weekend I hope).

Auto or 6speed, the 60' should be down in 1.3x or 1.4x at minimum.

Interesting with the brake pedal... always trying to copy the clutch guys aren't you
