Vortech problems

04 sedan 6spd. Stock v3 kit.

I noticed that I can't reach 8psi. Max boost is about 5ish. All clamps are tight and plenum is not leaking. I read that the bypass valve tends to leak under boost. Should I change it out? Or is there something else that I'm missing? Any help is would be great.... I'm stumped! Oh an vac is good 20-21.

Thanks!

if your asking if i did a "compression test"...no i have not. i only had it on for 2 weeks. no blow-by, no stumbling, plugs are good, oil is good, no cel, no loss of power.

then, obviously, thats all the boost you are going to get. Boost is not an indicator of horsepower.

No where in this thread says that boost is indicated by hp. Boost is measured by the restrictions in the intake manifold and the parts alike. So the less restrictions the less boost u see.... Intercooler, plenum spacer, ect. So In my case my engine is stock, no spacer or exhaust ect... So I'm assuming 8psi as vortech claims. I am not getting 8 psi... So a leak is present. The leak was found in the bypass valve. It was leaking under boost. Problem fixed.
Done.

So obviously 5psi is not all that I can see.....

Thanks.

What other mods do you have (exhaust, test pipes, headers)?

you said you didnt have any leaks.... if there were no leaks, then 5psi was going to be all you made.

good job at fixing it yourself.
